Re: Sixth form suits - Waistcoat? Why?(Original post by Ocassus)
Doubtful that all you are saying is true
Are you simply jealous.
Of course I am not saying that I get looks from everyone, but a number do have a glance.
Anyway, you do not have the believe - your belief or non-belief is not a condition for the necessity and truth of my statement.
Thus, away with you!

Re: Sixth form suits - Waistcoat?I had no idea the etiquette and rules of attire were so rigid(Original post by The Blind Monk)
Some people do but it's definitely not exactly widespread for people to have their evening wear on point and pretty much nobody owns morning wear any more.
My main objections to the idea of wearing a waistcoat are that it's very rarely done well and also that it requires a certain amount of swagger/self confidence to pull off well. If you have sufficient self confidence/dress sense, you can do the strangest things and look/be fine.
Also, women might say they like things like suits etc but frankly most of them don't even know what constitutes 'good' fit and it is always dependant on the environment. There's a time and place for the 'formal' Huntsman or A&S suit and there's a time and a place for Dior velvet blazers. Not that I'd ever wear a smoking jacket...
There was a thread earlier in the week where a guy was asking if it was acceptable to wear a waistcoat with t-shirt & plimsolls: am I correct in assuming this is something you would disapprove of? -

Noe it is indeed not, I am just outwardly expressing my belief that you are a troll and it is my belief that if you are a troll you are going to know that your statements are as hollow as rocks found at a cheap package holiday resort.
I am incredibly jealous...

And, once again, I am not a troll.
