do a general course that lets you specialise after a year or two.

without actually being taught the main areas of engineering, you really cant make a particularly informed choice of what you want to end up doing
An engineering course that makes AAB-ABB offers... right...

Since I can't be bothered to look through the hundred other courses that fit that description, here's one from the uni I'm at.

Edit: Found an even better one if you really have no idea what sort of engineering you want to do.

I hear Loughborough is really good for engineering.

Can any engineers tell me what sort of engineering and what uni they think is great for ABB-AAB predictions...

Also some advice on what is the most flexible course letting me branch into computing or w.e

thanks!

edit: Im talking about from your personal experiences what you advise to someone heading into engineering

I'm doing Aeronautical Eng at Loughborough. I got in with AAB, I know the masters is now AAA but you could still get on the bachelors with your grades and then progress onto the masters after your second year (the first two years are the same for both courses). Obviously I wouldn't advise Aero Eng if you're not into flying of some form, but the above would be the same for other branches, it might be worth going on the BEng then progressing up.

Electronical & Electrical Engineering @ UCL is pretty good, also Mechanical Engineering @ Sussex - Both ABB

:ditto:
My UCL offer was AAB for the MEng but I think it's gone up to AAA now.
But BENg is still AAB

I looked into doing that course, but honestly its not worth it. In the event you actually get a job related to Aeronautics, its almost definately going to be sat at a PC screen on a standard 9-5 trying to make a number smaller. I've done work experience with BAE Systems, and honestly, the place is so dull and the pay is crap.

Like someone else mentioned, try a general course that you can specialise on. I've just bombed this into 3 threads now, but Warwick actually have the same first 2 years for ALL engineering courses. This gives you a nice little teaser into each sector and then you're free to choose any specialisation you want in your 3rd (and 4th on a MEng) REGARDLESS of what you applied to in the first place.

Edit: Last year the entry requirements were AAB for the MEng and BBB for the BEng, but since you're free to 'upgrade' or 'downgrade' between the 2, you only need to apply and get the grades for the BEng to be honest.
