Re: The Smiley Request ThreadIntriguing, certainly. But when will our maintenance man get his due respect as a smiley?(Original post by Dalimyr)
You'll notice a pattern if I post them all...

Any image that's in the smilies folder will have a working smilie on the site using its filename (e.g. from smile.gif becomes
) - there are ones which have specifically listed shortcuts, the majority of which don't follow the normal 'rule' of smilies having colons on either side, and some others are just named specifically because they're commonly used and we wanted them in the smilies box that appears to the right of the advanced post editing window (e.g.
and
)
Now that you know that, you might also twig that that's why some smilies are named rather peculiarly, in particular :2euk48l:
(2euk48l.gif is just the name of a file in the smilies folder so it's listed as a smilie even though the smilie is supposed to be named something totally different)

Although didn't
and
used to have to have colons on each side?

Re: The Smiley Request ThreadNot a clue. As far as I'm aware, AdminCP's smilie manager is still broken so we can't add new smilies...and that's a REALLY minor issue compared to other things around the site.(Original post by Nothos)
Intriguing, certainly. But when will our maintenance man get his due respect as a smiley?

I shall be cancelling my subscription post haste. (I hope someone gets the reference) -

Re: The Smiley Request ThreadYes, I wonder what did give me this idea(Original post by Crazy Paving)
I wonder what gave you that idea.
Though, agreed, that's pretty awesome.
It would but not sure how long it is until the smiley bug is fixed. -
Re: The Smiley Request Threadbut that's soooo unfaiiiiir(Original post by Illusionary)
I wouldn't get your hopes up.
I really can't see us not vetoing this as it has far too much potential for spam.

Re: The Smiley Request ThreadYesssss(Original post by Qaz25)
I think more ninja smileys are needed. A ninja high-five smiley would be nice
maybe?
Although more ninja smileys of any sort would be much appreciated

Does anyone know what this smilie is?

Re: The Smiley Request ThreadIt's a green dude smoking. When the smilies were being renamed ages ago to remove references to individual users, that one obviously got missed, as 'pd' is short for Phonicsdude

would be amazing to have

or something along those lines for when
or
isn't enough?
