Family Members
Hello, I'm in yr.11 at the moment, but in the future I would love to go to Oxford.
Several of my family members have previously been there also, my uncle and my grandfather at Oriel College, and my great uncle and my great great grandfather at St. Edmunds Hall. I also have a feeling my cousin who is a couple of years older than me will also try and go there.
I was wondering whether the fact that I had had fairly close family members attending a particular college would perhaps benefit my chances if I then decided to apply there. I know the official line probably would say no, but I was just interested.
Any thoughts?

Not sure about here in the UK, but I heard that when applying for prestigious universities in the States, like those in the Ivy League, it looks good if you have family members that are alumni.
