Smart jeans, shoes and casual shirt will be fine.

Not a football shirt and not your smartest clobber. Anywhere in between is fine.

Most lecturers and university staff, except really 'old school' ones just wear jeans and an open-neck shirt anyway. They're probably not going to make an effort for undergraduate interviews!
I wore jeans, converse and a shirt for Oxford, with a jumper because it was snowing. However that was for engineering where they are incredibly relaxed.
Anything smartish, but not a suit.

I've been thinking this. It says on University of Cumbrias website that they interview for the conservation courses and therefore I possibly will get one (I havent even quite sent off my UCAS form yet but still). Its on a really outdoorsy campus and subject so I've no idea. But still I suppose I have to get the interview first to even worry about this.
