I don't understand why everyone classes A* much above As in general. Oxford have said that they are not considering the A* after this year, I think it was.
TSR verages are a lot higher than the normal ones, I still don't know why. I got ABBBb and I worked VERY VERY hard for it and was very proud wheras some people didn't even bother revising and ended up with A*s and As.
Even though the ranking of A levels differs from a subject to an other but generally I think :
A* - Outstanding A - Excellent B - Very good C - Good/average D - Below average E - Poor U - Very poor

I'd agree with A and B being good A Levels and C being average, but I would say D and E were more okay/poor than awful. They're still passes. Surely a U is an awful A Level ?
Hi, alongside my A Levels I take a BTEC in Performing Arts (school didn't offer Drama & Theatre Studies - because the BTEC is a much better course and we get to do lots more ) and it is just as hard as an A Level! I am fed up of people looking down on BTECs, yes they are a more vocational qualification, but they are not worth any less than an A Level (not in UCAS points anyway)...
