Who's more important: the academic or the artist?

If we didn't have art, we would be a boring, grey, airless, joyless society, and probably would be in a much worse state than we are now, if we were here at all. If we didn't have academics, we would either still be stuck in the Stone Age, or dead. They are both as important as each other, don't say that one is more important.
