Re: The Working At Asda ThreadI'm permanent but I see notices around the staff area looking for people to voluntarily reduce their contract hours in January!(Original post by Prodigy)
I'm afraid you, and all the other temps, will probably be let go for the month of January and the store will have the intentions of taking you and all the other temps back on in February. Reason being is no store really makes anything in January so they can't afford the temps for that month, it's happened in my store and the same is happening in other stores where my friends have temp positions. I think to get bought back to your store just make sure you keep up your good work, do anything they tell you even if it means helping other departments out (I had to help George the other day even though I was on H+L) and just make sure you make it clear to your line manager you would like to return. Good Luck, I also hope to be called back to my store! -

Re: The Working At Asda Thread
So after finishing my temp contract on 31st December they told me I may have to wait a few weeks before I would hear anything, although they did say I was 99% that I would return. Just got a call to ask me if I could come in tomorrow at 10am, since I dont have the green uniform yet they told me just to wear a shirt and trousers, does anyone know what I'll be doing tomorrow?

Re: The Working At Asda Thread
Hey so I was a temp worker too, but how come I got paid the same as the previous month even with the extra pay they said we would get for working xmas eve and boxing day?
Should I call up because I don't see any £17p/h or £13p/h for those days on my payslip even though this is what they said we get? -
Re: The Working At Asda ThreadI'm in a similar situation. Posters were up saying colleagues would be earning approx £17/h (on night shift) for New Years Eve, Christmas day etc but don't appear to have been paid that...(Original post by dollar)

Also, another question, when clocking in and out is your pay taken from the nearest quarter hour? For example working till say 6.55 it takes it as 6.45 whereas if you were to stay an extra 5 minutes you'd get paid till 7? If that makes sense...?

Re: The Working At Asda ThreadWell I'm going to have to call them and find out. If you clock in at 6:01 they would pay you from 6:15. If you clock out at 6:44 they would pay you until 6:30. Of course they are not this strict, they have something called exceptions which means if you are a minute or two out then they pay you anyway. Also, it's difficult for them to work out every time an employee was a minute or so late so they just assume you get there on time and leave on time. I've been late a few times and left at 22:00 instead of 22:15 but I still got paid the nightly rate for the extra 15 mins.(Original post by LoneWanderer)

Apparently I won't hear anything for a few weeks because they never need people in Jan.
