What's the difference between group A and B?

I'm assuming A is stronger if you are surprised it came from someone in group B but how do they decide who is in what group?

I thought zoe qualified for group A in the weightlifting, why is she in group B?
dude, I just realised, I don't think lifters in group A are better than in group B, it's just 2 different groups because they have so many lifters. Medals ceremony is done after groups A AND B have competed, and anyone from eihter group contends for medals.

After whats just happened that could be the case. But the qualifying totals for A are higher... by 20-40kg but you can put in any qualifying total you want, it's up to you.

Good and bad for going first.... if you do well puts pressure on dudes later but also they know exactly what they have to lift to win.

Can Wu Jingbao do 293? I'm not sure, he did 300 (137+163) at the national games in April 2012 and 292 in 2011 and 2010 world championships.

**** this is gonna be close . Got big money on him winning.

Loading error - was supposed to lift 86kg for a 2nd attempt, but htey loaded 84, she lifted it, and got credited with it. Went for 86kg for 3rd attempt, failed. Then they were like "Lol ok she get 4th lift", then changed their minds!

Its a lot worse when they drop the bar behind them. I'm surprised that lots of the girls have not had any injury as the way they drop the bar behind them looks very dangerous

btw I imagine one of the reasons for having different groups is to even out the rate lifters have to go out and lift and how much rest they get. If you had one bad lifter in a group of much higher standard, that lifter would probably have to do his/her 3 lifts almost consecutively, before the weight goes up to the starting weight of the other lifters.

it is relatively safe and easier to control,w hen the bar drops back or front. The danger is if you for example have one arm collapse in the snatch, then you can't properly push it away from your body while it's dropping.

There was so much pressure on that woman who almost bombed. Heart rate went up when she did her final successful snatch lol
