They're respected equally.
I would say they are equally respected....perhaps history slightly more so (but I'm biased :biggrin:) however no difference, unless you are applying for english lit or history at uni, but then again, thats fairly obvious as to which would be better

And anyone did either of these from CIE?
Equal.
I did both at A Level & found them as equally respected. Both overlap in my opinion.

You should think about the degree you want to study, if History or English Literature is more-related to your degree.If say, English Literature is more related because you want to study Journalism, then, this A-level is more respected.
For Economics I'd err on the side of History, but that's just me. Generally they're both regarded very similarly.

Id say they are equally respected.

I do both and I'd say they're around equal. Personally I find English Lit easier but for Economics, History would probably be more useful/relevant.
I do both, adore History, like English - respected equally. A lot of unis like them together when you study one of the two at uni.
