14. so what does this mean?

It means you will be abducted by aliens who (unlike common media portrayals) will actually be bright neon pink and only want you to make a cup of tea. On your return to earth you will realise you forgot to give them sugar but it's okay because your mum's best friend has some. After heading to her house you end up naked in bed with her and 9 months later she gives birth to male twins who you call "Al" and "Ian". On you're way home from the hospital you run into the aliens. They are now furious since it has been 9 months and they still haven't had sugar from you. Therefore, they kill you with their ray guys (which are shaped like bunny rabbits).

The End.

In all seriousness it means you don't exhibit signs of autism.
To be honest, id not heard about the test untill now.
Haven't taken this FB test, but I have been told by a health professional that I would be probably classified as HFA (high-functioning autistic) - I didn't follow it up though for a formal diagnosis with a specialist as I didn't particularly see the point.

On the standard Autism Quotient test (link), I score in the mid-40s

I got 9!

I'd expect that the average result for people on here will be higher than that of the general population. After all, we're sitting at our computer talking to people online, not interacting in true social situations.

I just took it and I scored 3!

It doesn't surprise me that I came out with a low score - one of my best friends (who also spent a fair bit of time with a guy in our year who had AS) once described me as "the opposite of autistic", and although I wouldn't describe myself as loud and extrovert I'm always on the lookout for people to chat or socialise with, to the point where it sometimes gets in the way of my work. I also hated maths and physics at school, sometimes repeat phone numbers back wrong straight away, and as you can see below I went on to do A-levels in English, languages and music and am now a music student whose other main activities are politics and journalism!

However, I do worry whether with such a low score there's either something wrong with me (in other words, I'm just as abnormal the other way) or that the test's flawed. I definitely think that neurotypical people (and I'm not excluding myself) find it pretty easy to pick out the "autistic" and "non-autistic" responses, and as they don't want to be described as autistic, will find it very hard to avoid just picking the non-autistic answers - perhaps even subconsciously.

I'd expect that the average result for people on here will be higher than that of the general population. After all, we're sitting at our computer talking to people online, not interacting in true social situations.

@SoapyDish - I agree that this site probably attracts a fair number of the kind of people who'd get high scores, but I also think there's probably quite a few people (like me!) who come on sites like this and Facebook when they're bored and can't find people to talk to right now. I'm sitting in my room at uni right now, and I'm pretty sure all my neighbours are in bed or working - but at least I can "interact" and express my thoughts in some form, rather than playing on games or something!

This is just ****ing ridiculous. God, I despise the Facebook generation and I'm embarrassed to be part of it.

A bloody Facebook autism test!? Really?

I know, I thought the same thing when I first saw it - but if you type "autism spectrum quotient" into Google, you'll find it's actually a real scientific test devised by researchers at Cambridge which has a really impressive success rate. Not your typical "Whats you're favorite Friend's character" (sic) kind of Facebook quiz!

Is this the test on facebook? http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aqtest.html
I got around 40 on the test, to be honest I'm confident that I have it (going of what I know about it and the symptoms I found online... and other people telling me I have).

I got 5 on that one. But then I think it's pretty clear I don't really figure on the autism spectrum.
34. Hrm.
I got 21. Dyspraxic but I manage it pretty well. A few years ago I would have scored much higher.
35.

Not surprising.

This is probably the best test i've seen for aspergers.
The questions are extremely good.
