Cancelling Linear Factors

Got this question for my maths h/w:

3x+24/x^2+12x+32

I have to cancel it down, and I factorised the bottom but I can't see how it cancels :frown: any help?

3x+24=3(x+8)3x+24 = 3(x+8)

Does that help?

You've resurrected a 4-year-old thread here

Is this supposed to relate to the original question or is this a separate problem you've been given?
