Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)Lucky you :P(Original post by Third6)
It's the one in Glasgow.
I actually got another call yesterday from Schuh inviting me for an interview this week as well. LOL Interviews coming out my ears! -
Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)I'm not going cause I've accepted this job. I just found it quite funny that I'd been franticly looking for a job for over 6 weeks hearing nothing from no one and as soon as I get one, I start getting calls for interviews.(Original post by tosh999)
Lucky you :P -
Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)Do you get free popcorn(Original post by lechaton-x)
Don't work at a cinema. I'm a Vuebie and now my soul is gone.

Which Cineworld is it? I recently got a job at a Cineworld
cool, at Greenbridge? I worked there when it was Cineworld, although now it's Empire
No, the one in West Swindon near the Link Centre. -
Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)
Lmao, as if they'd give you free food! Well Cineworld don't anyway but you get 2 free tickets and then after you've been there for 3 months you can apply for what's called a cast pass and get 40% off food and drink. So I imagine they'd have something similar at Vue and other cinemas. -
Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)The woman at the interview said we can see as many free films as we want and then after 3 months we can get a Cineworld pass thing that allows us to take a friend for free too. Pretty sweet deal.(Original post by _Shanice_)

Unless that's what you meant by 2 free tickets? -

As far as I knew it was 2 free tickets a day so either 2 for yourself or 1 for you and 1 for a friend, because you can take a friend now without the pass it just means that when you do get a pass you can watch a film for free at ANY Cineworld. I've never known it to be as many films as you like though, it's always been 2 tickets a day whether that be 2 for yourself or 1 for you and 1 for a friend.
To be honest, you won't want to be watching as many films as possible in one day anyway (nor would you have time to unless you have A LOT of free time on your hands lol). Most films we get I don't even want to watch and to be honest I don't want to be spending all my days off in work lol.
Also, I have two words for you: nacho cheese! It will become clear once you start lol

Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)Nacho cheese is the bane of my life. I have spent many a hungover saturday morning wanting to vom as I mix up the stuff(Original post by _Shanice_)

You have to mix it up?!
We just have the little pots of it, but that's just as revolting, particularly when cleaning a screen and they decide to leave the open pot upside down on the floor.

Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)Yep, it came solidified in a can then we needed to mix it with tap water...ughhh..(Original post by _Shanice_)

Don't need to any more, just got a cheeky job at CoOp. -

Oh right, she definitely said only I can have free tickets for the first 3 months. I wasn't gonna go watch two/three films on my days off anyway haha. To be honest, I'll probably never take advantage of it cause I never go to the cinema at university, it's always when I go home so my home cinema wont know who I am anyway.
I've just realised I booked tickets to see a band on the night the Harry Potter film opens. Do you think if I say to them when I start they'd let me work the day shift or have it off?? I booked these tickets months and months ago so it wasn't like I knew I was gonna be working in a cinema haha. -
Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)Well maybe that's how that site likes to do it but both Cineworld I've worked at you're allowed to take someone else with you, but you always need to get permission when you go in if you don't have a card, so no doubt they'd let you take a friend anyway. The only way you'd be able to get in to the cinema at home is with a wage slip but then that's up to the discretion of the manager there really.(Original post by Third6)

Good luck getting that horrendous night off lol you'd have to try and request it off, but if you do an open the earliest you'll be finishing is about 5 so I don't know if that even gives you enough time? -

Don't they have to honour any holidays/commitments etc though? I have my first shift on Sunday so I'll say to the manager then. I could easily work til 5 or 6 cause I only live 5 minutes walk away. God damn Harry Potter, I hate you!!!

Do you mean holidays as in holidays abroad or holidays as in days off? Because a day off request isn't the same as making a holiday request. It's not really up to me to say whether they HAVE to honour it or not, but with booking days off you always need to get them requested and there's never a guarantee they'll get approved. Mine usually do but I tend to book mine off ages in advance
If you're starting Sunday then you may just be giving enough notice for them to consider approving it but at the end of the day it will all be dependant on whether or not they've already got too many people book off and how many people they need working for the opening, etc.
I'm not looking forward to Harry Potter at all
I don't even watch the damn films either lol! Oh by the way, just remembered something, you may have a staff showing off it as they usually do staff showings of big films.

Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)I meant just prior commitments to starting a job. They usually do, cause it's not like I purposely bought the tickets knowing they'd want me to work. If I'm willing to be flexible you'd think they would be too. Because I haven't actually started, they haven't properly explained everything so it's not like I even knew you have to submit a day off request until you said it.(Original post by _Shanice_)

Is it really that bad?? The one I'm working in is the biggest cinema in the world, well it was...I think one in China has over taken it now. Uh oh!
I hate Harry Potter so if they do a staff showing I'll have to politely decline
-
Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)at Empire I think I got 25 % or so off food, unlimited free tickets for me and up to 12 for friends per quarter so much better at Cineworld(Original post by Third6)

Unfortunately yes
but it's the same with all big films. Twilight was a nightmare, 2 sold out screens for the midnight showing and over the weekend it was in 4 different screens each half an hour apart so by the time the last showing has gone in the first one was coming out and I literally did not stop from 11am until 6pm. The only time I stopped was for my breaks lol and one of my breaks I missed and had to take late because I stayed to help my colleagues but then some other girl decided to just take her break and not tell anyone!
I'm sorry I'm making it sound really bad and probably putting you off already lol. -
Re: Cineworld Assessment (Group interview)Uh oh...this doesn't sound fun at all. But hey, at least it'll keep me busy and the time will fly by!(Original post by _Shanice_)
