Re: Whats YOUR view about University of Reading
I will just give you my point of view on Reading, to answer your questions:
The library is relatively good, has a extensive range for undergrad level. At the moment it is not yet 24/7 but the hours are being continuously change (i.e longer opening times!!).
Wed/Sat are major nights for the Union.
The train station is 15 min by bus or about 20-30 min on foot.
Anything else I can help with? -

Night life and things to do ? How does it compare to say Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham etc. ?
Because many people tell me Reading (The area not the Uni) is a big dive

Re: Whats YOUR view about University of Reading
Lots of Nightlife locally from pubs to bars and clubs and of course the Union + for special events London is only 20 min by train..
Also there are loads of sporting/volunteering opportunities around. Furthermore, the Oracle has great shopping and sometimes stages student night with loads of discounts/freebies.
Reading is not a dive but as with any sizeable town/city some area can be rough. -

Going into my second year - if it's anything like the 1st year then it's gonna be fricking awesome!! Anyone coming here this year, you're going to have a great time!
Get out there, meet people, and make the most of it because it goes in a flash. You WILL love Reading Uni.

Hey I know it's an old thread but I'm wondering about classes. Has anyone taken the deaf studies? Or linguistics?
Anything is helpful.
Also how are the rooms set up?? How many per area?
Thanjs!
