The Student Room Group

Has anyone applied to C.E.X before?

and got an interview, what questions would i be expecting?

I am quite a mediacore gamer, i have the ps3, ps2, psp, wii, pc, dslite, gamecube, N64
so i know what roughly the platforms information, i dont have the xbox 360 but i know roughly what it is about.

i play msotly rpg, shooters, action adventure and 1-1 combats, the odd racing game

only thing i aviod is the horrors like F.E.A.R and resident evil etc

i have past retail experience in a cloth estore but hated it and i think im confident to sell myself to them.
You'll be expected to masturbate, while trying to play MW2
So long as you can give pros and cons about all the main consoles I think you'll be fine, but perhaps choosing a genre or two like those you've mentioned and trying to specialise in them might be the best way to sell yourself to the company. The previous retail experiance will certainly count in your favour, especially if you can show that you have good communication and teamwork skills.

Nope, not even this, I recently received a job offer for a CEX store in London.

I just talked about my passion for gaming (not going into technical details etc/pros and con's), how I keep up to date and in the know with whats going in the gaming/tech world.

Retail experience to them isn't really a biggie from my experience and yes teamwork and comms skills are sought after.

what should i wear for the interview? im a little bit worried that i would come off too smart (because thats all i have in terms of interview clothes)

so im guessing that would just ask customer service related situations and why you want to work etc.

lil bit nervous....

Luckily my interview was really laid back and I was on my way back from Manchester so told the guy and he said not to worry about the dress code.

Dress wise I'd go smart casual tbh.

Just make sure you know your basics and essentials, remember CEX doesn't only specialist in games, they also do electronics such as phones, camera's etc and DVD's.

Just chill, be yourself, talk about how you give good customer service, you can work easily in a team, can show signs of leadership now and again etc.

What I did was read the job title off their website and kinda guessed questions of there too.

All the best.
