i just got a phonecall for a second interview so the piercings can't have swayed them much. gunna have to be extra good with answers in this interview because there were a good few people there that were nice and full of personality so i'm gunna have to make myself stand out i reckon, gunna be a geek and revise some answers haha.

also, did they tell you the feedback in the interview or did you just read it yourself?
I read it because my sheet was on top when he was showing us round. But they said we wouldn't hear back until tomorrow as there was another magic session today and they would need to discuss it.

He read it out to me. Apparently I came across as shy but worked well with others, seemed motivated, and was calm and put what I had to say across well when addressing the whole group.

Do you think the comment 'paced herself' is a good or bad thing?

Well, it's hard to know really without having been there. I don't think it's bad though. Maybe they meant that you were calm and collected, moving through the activities steadily and putting the same amount of energy into everything rather than say lots at the start and not much by the end?

Thanks, I think I'm still classed as seasonal.

Going to call personnel tomorrow, if not I might try checkouts. I've not used Asda tills before though.
good luck asda checkouts are easy, I ended up on them at easter (due to refurb) for a few weeks ( I had management issues) and my till training took 15 mins

Thanks, the only thing I'd be scared about is IDing people I think, otherwise I don't think I'd mind checkouts.

Still don't know if I can go back yet, waiting at the moment for the people manager to get back off holiday. D:

I had that at the start then just thought "If in doubt ID them"

I've ID'd 2 30 yr olds but most are around 23 and they all normally have ID on them anyway...

Only annoyed person i ever had was a 19 yr old girl that i didn't ID and she got very offended...

    Dear ASDA Self Service

My item IS in the bagging area. If I was trying to steal it do you honestly think I would have scanned it in the first place?

Just applied for eight jobs on their website, I'm desperate!! Hope I hear back from them, it said a couple of them closed on 3rd May but they were open to apply to so I did anyway

    6 x temporary 15 hours
    1 x temporary 38 hours
    1 x permanant 16 hours

or something like that. Last one would be amazing. I said I can work any day any time, fingers x'd I hear good things

Jesus Christ... all this faffing around; magic interviews, preliminary interviews, team work, group sessions, second rounds.. to get a minimum wage job packing shelves? :lolwut: Anyone would think this was to get a job in the magic circle. Ridiculous!

All there is is the 'Magic' group thing and then a one-to-one interview, that's all. Similar to many places I believe.

I dunno, I'm just going by all the above, it just seems excessive. But then I guess they're in a position to be really choosy. Thankfully my job was really easy to get. Almost too easy.

Thanks for the help and reassurance, found out today I'm on George again so no need to worry. (:

Re: Working for ASDA, any questions?
    Hey all,
I applied a week and 2 days ago and got the automated email. Since then my application status has been "application under review". I was just wondering if 1-2 weeks is a usual amount of time to wait to hear back from them. Im pretty sure i passed all the questions as im sure you get an automated email saying you were unsuccessful straight after you apply.

I know a m8 in the store i applied to and put him down as a colleague referral but hes away on holiday atm, could that be why i havent heard back.

I also just checked the available positions and the one i applied for is no longer there, is it a bad sign that i haven't heard anything and its no longer up.

Sorry for all the questions but if i had got this job it would have been pretty convenient as i live pretty close.

Re: Working for ASDA, any questions?
I had my Asda Magic interview today and got a call about 3 hrs later from the head of personel. Got a one to one interview tomorrow.
Any ideas on what will be included ? what questions will be asked ?
Looking at other posts it seems that i'm lucky to even get that far considering i have no previous work experience at all.
