Yer, but they cut out the actual playing of the World Cup. The action and exciement of the Quidditch World Cup was the main reason I wanted to see the film.(Original post by Kondar)
They didn't cut out the Quidditch World Cup, I was actually very impressed and surprised with how well that turned out. When they showed Krum flying around the field and played that loud base music, it got me really pumped up. -
omg!
It was well good!!! though i wanted to go in for the 5 o'clock film but the tickets were sold out for that, the 5:30 tickets were sold out as well and the 6 o' clock so I had to wait for the 6:15 film, 30 minutes of advertisements and trailers and then the film started!!!
But it was brilliant! Well worth the 4:30 - 6:15 wait and the 30 minute trailers!!
-
And that is why I got up at 8am on a Saturday morning. So I could catch the 9.30am showing and avoid the crowds.(Original post by smallguy54321)

On a side note, how did they get away with the arse shot of the Beaubaton girls?
-
I don't think I noticed any arses!!(Original post by Dude)

I was wondering that myself, stuff like that and ron telling harry to piss off, they said they made it a 12A because of horror, not becuase language and arses!! But the Durmstrang boys coming in was well cool!!!
especially the music and their choreography(sp?)!!
-
I thought that as well, both entrances were really cool.(Original post by smallguy54321)

The Beaubaton girls were all gorgeous (my mate thought they were all Scousers until I told her that they actually hired French girls for it) and the Durmstrang boys were really cool. Those staffs were ratehr excellant. -
I loved the durmstrang entrance. It seemed a bit dark-like. The sighing got a bit annoying at the end.(Original post by Icy Ghost)
What was with the beaubatons sighing and holding out their hands? And the Durmstrangs stamping the staffs on the floor? That really made me cringe for some reason.
My friend went to see HP on friday and the projector got cut off just when Harry arrives back with Cedric's body. Because of that, they gave her and her friends free tickets to see the showing on Monday, and she gets to go again! Lucky! -
i just got back from the film. still recovering from it tho. lol...they missed soo much out. expected tho.
I was hoping that Harry would give his winnings to the weasley twins...to kinda make sure that we would got alot of thier tricks, and the twins getting their shop in the next film. They better put that in HP5, those were the best parts! (lol..thinking about the next one aready) -
You know, I can't wait for the bit in the next movie about the Twin's escape from Hogwarts-a nice bit of humour in the book. They'd better put that in!(Original post by Tazzie)

I quite liked GoF. But they missed out so many things so slightly annoyed. AND what was with Dumbledore and Snape manhandling the students? I was so shocked. Also when Ron swore, I was like
.
Cedric's dad made me all emotional, I actually cried
. Oooh and Barty Crouch Jr. was so handsome.
EDIT:
OMG where was ludo??? uwaaaah. I JUST realised. I'm slow.(Original post by beth_geog)
I think they should have done the scene where moody puts the imperius curse on harry that would have been good. Can't believe ludo was just not in the film!
I want one of the jumpers the champions were wearing in the 1st task lol! -
I didn't like it when Dumbledore started man-handling Harry-it just wasn't right! But the Snape whacking Harry and Ron bit was really funy.(Original post by sillygirl)

I was also
when Ron swore as was my older brother. I almost cried when Cedric's dad got all emotional as well.
I think that David tennant played Barty Crouch, so look out for him as the doctor in doctor who.
-
I just heard ron say bloody hell a lot - is that the swearing he did?(Original post by Xenon)

I have to say I hated this film, simply because it butchered the book.
A lot of the characters seemed really, well, out of character. Dumbledore just seemed nothing like his normal strong and calm character, his speeches just didn't inspire confidence and portray a sense of power like they did in the book. After Harry's name gets pulled from the cup and the heads of house are in his office and are discussing what has happened he just seemed to put out of place by just those couple of events when compared to the book. At the very end before he starts the last speech it really bothered me how Dumbledore seemed to be slouching.
A lot of people have said Voldemort's character was good but I thought the opposite, his character just felt too humanized, through out the books his characters very distanced from humanity.
I didn't much care for Moody’s portrayal either, although it wasn't as bad as those two. First of, he was nothing like I had imagined but that's forgivable as to my knowledge the director didn't have access to my imagination. However I think in that first lesson he was too intimidating to the children and we didn't really see his approachable side like you did in the books.
The cinematography was awful! It was like the scenes were just duct taped together - there was no natural progression it just seemed to jump; very quickly. There was no build up of suspense and it was very hard to get into the film because of the speed it moved at.
What they did to the plot really annoyed me too, showing the three people in the room at the beginning pretty much gave the jig away.
It completely knocked me over when they got to the world cup, there watching the pitch, the team comes on, and then *poof* were suddenly in the tent for a second I thought some how the scenes had come out of order. I couldn't believe they didn't put it in after the build up (they kept it quiet they didn't put it in as well).
When Ron said "piss off", that just seemed out of place after the argument was over. It just seemed like they put it in because they can since their 12a.
I didn't like what they did at the second task either; they seemed to down play how much Harry cared and tried to save all the hostages from the book.
The maze was bad too, I was really annoyed at the lack of magic (I loved the 'point me' spell in the book). Also the Ron and Cedric moment and when there racing each other was just really wrong.
The grave yard scene was nowhere near as good as it could have been in my opinion. As I said Voldemort came of as to human and not evil enough. I think Cedic's death could have been made better as well by cutting out the chatter between him and Harry before hand and spending a little more time on it (like him hitting the floor to really send the message home). Also I think Voldemort’s come back was a lot better in the book where he just rose gracefully from the cauldron it just seemed more sinister to me. I was also expecting more from the fight between them it just didn't seem right (what was with Voldemort running past Harry like an idiot after he made him bow?). Then the priori incantatum thing was really underdone I felt. I hoped to see like a golden webbed dome with the death eaters banging on it, I wanted to see Voldemort look scared, I wanted to see the beads and I wish the ghosts bit had been done properly. In fact it came of to me as though Harry's parents regularly popped out of wands to come and talk to Harry. It was just all over and done with far too quickly.
Then there was all the stuff they cut out. I couldn't believe how much stuff wasn't there. The whole Rita Skita plot practically. Hagrid's and Maxime's relationship. SPEW and the house elves! Practically all of Barty Jr. back story. Sirius. Blast Ended Skrewts. Leprechaun gold and the little animals that go and find it. Ron and his money problems. That's all I can think of now but I know there's more. -
I too would have liked to have seen a longer battle scene. Plus, the priori incantum didn't have the impact it should have. Like the wands shaking so badly that Harry and Voldie were really struggling to keep hold of it. Plus the gold bead of light moving to and from the two, eventually hitting Voldie's wand. If they would have put that in, it would have had an impact. Weren't they supposed to rise in the air or something?(Original post by datr)

I would have liked to see the bulgarian and irish mascots properly too.
