Blonde - trying to grow a beard.

I'm 20, I've always had blonde hair. I have similar hair to my dad in terms of thickness but around age 20 his hair went a kind of mousy brown colour.

Mine is showing no signs of doing this, which is annoying because I really want to grow facial hair. I can grow it to an extent (in that in a mirror or in the light it is clearly visible) but the fact that it's blonde makes the whole endeavour null and void.

I wondered if shaving regularly actually stimulates growth because I tend not to. I have the odd darker patch in facial hair but I have no idea why.

Any light shed would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Take it as a blessing. I used to always want facial hair, now that I have it and have to shave it, it's a huge pain. You could use a medium-light brown dusting powder some people use to cover white hair to make it show, that's about all you can do. Shaving with a blade does thicken growth, especially open/cut-throat blades.

I'm blond with a beard... well, it's kind of a beard. More like a cat chucked up an oversized furball on my chin.
