Re: My argument: Why the Soul is tied to the Brain. What?(Original post by x-friends)
We are mammals.
You said that without a soul, we would be lifeless bodies.
What about animals? They are clearly not lifeless. Do they have souls? Or does this condition only apply to humans? If so, why?Last edited by GodspeedGehenna; 14-11-2010 at 19:06. -

Yes. I thought that anwered your question.
If they have souls, do they go to heaven like humans? Or is there a seperate animal heaven? -

Excuse this reductio ad absurdum, but by your reasoning E. coli has a soul. Does it go to bacteria heaven? -

There is no such thing as a Soul. -
Re: My argument: Why the Soul is tied to the Brain.Dude, why do you even bother? She isn't going to take your points no matter who factual they are or how much evidence you have, she is going to continuously make ludicrous points without any evidence what so ever apart from everything around us (lol), and isn't ever going to provide a logical and rational argument. There is no hope for her.(Original post by GodspeedGehenna)

Re: My argument: Why the Soul is tied to the Brain.
No, no, no, the point of being a Christian is to suppress those desires if you have them. This is even purer and more Christian than just naturally "having the soul of a good person", which is what the story of the Prodigal Son is about. Therefore the "purity of someone's soul" can be defined as - given that they have the faculties to understand the "contract" of Christianity - the amount to which they are prepared to train their superego and to chastise themselves, feel shame, and repent for any sins committed.
I don't believe that the soul survives after death but I see how a person's self-evaluation on the point of death approximates judgement and the fact that actual death is oblivion makes the moment of death approximate eternity. -
Re: My argument: Why the Soul is tied to the Brain. That's offensive!(Original post by Annoying-Mouse)
