Re: Introduce yourself
Hello everyone! I'm 38, a single mother from the USA and I will be applying for Ancient History courses soon. I'm very nervous seeing as how all I know is being a mother. I'm working on my History degree and have chosen to apply in the UK to obtain my Masters because I feel they have an excellent education system.
I am mostly nervous about the PS statements because from what I've read , everyone has done some sort of extracurricular work in their field, volunteering or tutoring etc. I dont have anything like that. I stay positive, though! Good Luck to everyone who is applying and to those who are starting classes this year!!

Re: Introduce yourselfHowever, Vasso, by now you know a lot more of information so there is no need to be anxious(Original post by Vasso)
Hi! I'm Vasso,28, from Greece!
I have a BA in Electrical Engineering - Electrical Engineering Tutor and i am going to apply for another BA to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Technical and Production Arts!
I am too excited just from thinking about studying that but also the anxiety from all the details needed to be taken care of is driving me insane!

Greetings! Jonas and Gitte here. We are based in Malaysia where I'm from while Gitte is from Sweden. Gitte is in the midst of deciding whether or not to take up the offer for BSc Radiography at City University of London, she started something similar 20 years ago but some circumstances came in the way, reckon now is a good time for her to complete it. :-)
If she does take up the offer then we and kids will relocate to England till she qualifies, in the mean time my plan would be to pursue a LL.M and MBA. Am currently working for an O&G company as a Technical Advisor in the Legal Department. Most likely in the first year I will do a role reversal with her and be the househusband
I think I'm more excited for her than she is for her studies. :-)
Am 36 and she is 38

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi Everyone,
I'm Sue and I live in Stourbridge but born and bred in Liverpool.
Mature?? think I'm a geriatric student, haha. I am returning to Uni after many years, I chose marriage over my earlier degree in Paediatric nursing.
I will be studying BA Working with Children, Young People and Families at Newman University Colege in Birmingham.
I've not come across anyone else studying this course yet, let alone any other students near my age so if you are, please pop in and say hi to me. -
Re: Introduce yourself
Hi Guys,
This is Abbas going to be 25 end of this year :-) Only benefit I can see by getting older > Car insurance will be cheaper lolx :-D
I've previously completed BS in Computer Sciences. Came in UK 1.5years ago and just finished PGD diploma. Want to study here further and complete my MASTERS in Computer Sciences. I have 3 years of professional experience as well in Software development :-)
Explored this site when was trying to find any cheap university offer MS in CS. I really hope can find? Because all univs are really very expensive for International students :-( <disappointing>
Thanks.
Wish you all goodluck

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi everyone

I'm Jo, I'm 19 so not exactly mature but I'll be turning 21 the December after I start Uni (providing I actually get in *fingers crossed*)
I'm currently enrolled to start my access to health course on September 10th. I did do AS Levels and started my 2nd year but left just after christmas due to depression and what I think was really bad anxiety.
Hopefully if I do well I'll get onto a midwifery course and then I can become a midwife and that would be pretty cool.
I'm slightly nervous about going back to college because I'm really worried about failing all over again. I remember last time I always worried over the fact that I didn't really fit in and I didn't have many friends but i've kind of got over that teenage insecurity and thought **** it i'm going to get my head down for 9 months and work my butt off. I'm not opposed to making new friends but this time I'm going to put my work first, instead of fretting over what everyone thinks about me. -
Re: Introduce yourself
Hello all!!

I'm Kirsty and I'm 29 and I'm applying for 2013 entry to study Psychology (2nd time around as I was a 1st year undergrad when I was 23 but had to drop out due to personal circumstances).
Looking forward to it all when I (hopefully) get an offer. I'll be 30 when I officially start my degree......what am I letting myself in for?!? LOL! -
Re: Introduce yourselfThats right studies, work first and should concentrate on it first but socializing and making new friends is also important(Original post by JoEllen92)

sometimes you find any problem in your studies and work if you're not social and don't interact people don't help then. Interact with each other be happy shappy and enjoy your time at college. Nothing to worry about all you should care is about your aim and be nice to everyone so everyone will also be nice to you
and then it will not be difficult having good friends around
GOODLUCK
