Engineering Mech. Drawing

I’m in my 1st year of engineering at uni and have started this project that contains mechanical drawing.
I was hoping to find help from someone; i need answer by Sunday evening as i need to complete the task.
I have to assemble a drawing, when i have been give the parts for it! I’m finding it very hard to work out what part goes where.
I also wanted to ask when a drawing of a part is given is it always the left hand picture is a plan view and the right is a side view?? if I’m not making sense please let me know as i have pictures which will make more sense!
