Has anyone else here played MK vs DC?

Not exactly the high point of games or even comic-related games. Still damn fun.

Yeah, reasonably fun. I don't think I've ever chosen a Mortal Kombat character on that game.

I generally don't other than in the campaign and when my flatmates moan that me playing as Batman and The Flash is unfair.

I had no idea they were putting Parallax into Hector Hammond.

    Well...that sucks.
I don't think they're even doing that, I think they're just naming Hector Hammond 'Parallax', for no reason other than to dick with me.

Not much of a fan of fighters.

I guess the real Parallax won't be in any sequels then

A fair few of the MK characters are awesome. Mainly Sub Zero, Scorpion and Raiden.

Not like the industry could deal with as complex a character as Parallax, anyway.

Yeah, very true. All the good Green Lantern stories aren't really suited to Hollywood films.

I don't know how much any of you guys know about Amalgam Comics. I myself only know a little; it was a joint venture by DC and Marvel combining several of their popular characters in various one-short series, such as the incalculably awesome Dark Claw, a combination of Batman and Wolverine, who is the avatar of our fine society, chosen to generate a balance, so I wouldn't annoy any DC or Marvel fanboys/girls.

One of the other Amalgam characters is Iron Lantern, a combination (predictably enough) of Iron Man and Green Lantern. I was just thinking, what's the point? Once you've got a Green Lantern Power Ring, what good does Iron Man armour do you?

Has anyone actually read any Amalgam comics? I was thinking of picking up some second hand copies.

I agree with the consensus about the GL film. I'm kind of cautiously looking forward to it, but know that the inaccuracies/inconsistencies are really going to grate.

I played a load of that on a friend's xbox, and had a great time

But I do love Mortal Kombat, too. The film is bad in a brilliant way

And I wanna pick up some of those Amalgam comics!

I have read them. Utter crap, but yno, if you can get them for cheap they're worth the kitsch value, I suppose.

I think the Amalgam was created by a mystical cardboard box as well...

More of a webcomic fan. I regularly read Megatokyo, Little Gamers, LFG, LICD, Questionable Content, The Dreamland Chronicles, CAD, Applegeeks and Sinfest. I have read ****loads of others, but always forget their names cause they go one hiatus or start updating older posts for books and ****.

I still read some manga, mainly Blade of the Immortal, Shadow Star, Oh! My Goddess and Ranma 1/2. There are others again, but I've forgotten their names, need to get home and sort out my collection.

I really really hate little gamers.

There are so many better gaming webcomics.

Oh lawd, it gets worse. So they are bringing in the actual Parallax, they're just making it a load of horse manure. Presumably with an imbecilic backstory, since they wouldn't actually be able to fit in the rather complex and intelligent story of the real Parallax.

And wait, what's this? 'Yellow Power Battery'? Tell me that's an error. It must be an error.
