Re: NGDP
I got through too! Good luck to all those who are still waiting to hear back. I think I shall be attending the Leeds info day. Was a bit disappointed with the choice of councils. I was looking at the NW ideally and think there's only one council participating from the region! Rethink needed.

Re: NGDPYes, good point :/. Well onto the next applications then...(Original post by GdotL)
Yes, of course. However, if absolutely nobody received a rejection today then that looks less likely! -
Re: NGDPI believe it is just one more interview as the barrier to getting an actual job. But we could be offered interviews with several authorities, depending on who is interested in seeing us.(Original post by HighestKungFu)
Does anyone know how many interviews we will be given now? We get to put down two councils plus regional preferences so I am intrigued by this. Is it just one or more? -
Re: NGDPHow do the authorities know in advance if they are interested in seeing us? You mention 'several' but as we only get to indicate that we are interested in two, do the rest still have access to some kind of information on how we did at the assessment centres? Just curious!(Original post by ajs12345)

Re: NGDP
They see your original applications. They have these and work off them. You pick your regional preferences and I guess in that region, your application is forwarded to different LAs. They then decide if they want to interview you or not. For example I picked the South East last year and London. I was allocated London Borough of Bexley and Suffolk County Council based on my regional preferences and them wanting to interview me based on my application.

Re: NGDP
There are only 130 of us left out of 2500 applicants so well done to everyone who made it this far! Does anyone know roughly how many people each council is willing to take on? I assume it is more than one since there are 44(45 with the LGA) participating councils and 130 of us so it seems likely they each may be taking on 2-3 people.
Please clarify this if you know anymore information.
Thanks all! -
Re: NGDP
Hello everyone, first time poster here. I am also through to the IV stage so I thought I would finally get involved in the discussion.
I doubt that all of the participating councils are offering more than one job, although I suppose it is possible.
Does anyone know if we can defer our entry onto the programme for a year if we are successful at the interview stage? A few people have also briefly mentioned deferring for a year if you are rejected at the IV stage, and skipping straight to interview the following year.
Does anyone know if either of these options are available? Given the constantly changing nature of funding and participating councils from year year, I suspect that it is highly unlikely, but I just thought I would ask

Re: NGDP
Im guessing you guys weren't at the info day today. It varies, some councils are taking on two. It depends really. Some of the eastern regions are only doing the one, yet most of the London Boroughs are doing between 2 and 4 placements.
But Avituss I will answer your questions in the following:
1. If you pass the interview stage, you CANNOT defer. The Councils will want you start the following October. If you were rejected (I prefer the term unlucky personally...) then you CAN defer straight to the interview stage.
2. As above. -
Re: NGDPThank you for the information. I would love to have attended an information day but I had already taken a day off work for the second stage of the assessment centre so I couldn't take another so soon after it. Good to hear that some are taking up to 4! Do you know exactly how many places are on offer to? Thank you.(Original post by stormstar)

Re: NGDPAround 90 is the highest it's ever been I think and there's just short of 50 of us this year so I'd guess it'll be around the 60-70 mark tops. So there's still a bit of competition to go but keep your head up - you've already battled off a LOT of people.(Original post by HighestKungFu)
