Yeah, i think they do interview people who meet the grade requirements, seems logically correct. All the best

i had an audiology interview last year in swansea- i was the only person that turned up because of the weather - and it took me about 4hours to drive there!
there were about 3 people there - one person from a hospital or something and the other two are tutors there. One of the tutors gives a talk about the course and what it entails blah blah and then you can ask them any questions. It was literally just me and my parents there with a full powerpoint presentation.

Afterwards you are asked to wait outside for an individual interview- but because it was just me, i just went in by myself. It was very intimidating though : all three of them in a row facing you with no table or anything and you have to sit in a chair facing them. they ask the obv questions such as why do you want to do audiology, what kind of qualities do you think you need for the job, any experience that may improve your skills for the course. none of the questions really surprised me- but you have to come up with a few questions to ask them at the end just so you look interested about the uni or whatever.

In the end i thought i did ok- not brilliant- but ok, and i got a rejection the day after i went for the interview. After all that effort going there in the first place, when noone else showed up, i thought i had shown enthusiasm, and dedication to the course - but obv not from their point of view, and to make matters worse, they didnt even need to deliberate whether they wanted me for the course it was an outright no!

gee thanks for the boost in confidence lol.

Hey, I'm thinking of applying for audiology in 2012, what grades do I need, as I checked the Leeds and Manchester sites before Christmas and they wanted BBB/BBC, but now they are saying that they want ABB?? Also I have relevant work experience with a qualified audiologist who specialises in cocnea implants. I also work with a local disabled group and have worked in various local hospitals/care homes, but is there anything in particular I need to do? (I'm taking Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Music).
Thanks

Hi, Manchester asks for BBB or equivalent usually along with most other unis - all unis interview so if you do well on your interview you'll get the standard BBB offer, but in some cases they may be ABB. That's good you've got work experience, alot of people dont have any. I did mine at a local hospital and just asked alot of questions to the head of the audiology department at the hospital. Your subjects are good too.
