Do you say that because it's not a good uni or cos the areas ****? I was also thinking about it as a back up for myself

The university is not very prestigious, which is what is putting me off :/
Chester is a nice place, however.

I know a few people at Manchester - they do not feel that accomodation is a distance away. I think that they might socialise around the accomodation - when they are not hitting the brilliantly bright lights of MCR. I think Manchester has a better reputation as a Uni.

Chester is small - consider it for your insurance if you think there is a chance you are going to end up with a C and if you like it. No point in having an insurance that you do not want.

When I visited Liverpool I got the impression that everyone was covered in fake tan. I didn't get that from a day in Manchester.

Although everything on it is a bit bias, this website's proved really helpful to me when choosing unis:

Manchester then Lancaster, or York and then Lancaster depending on what type of a person you are, if you want a bit more quiet and prefer a campus life than York, but if you want big unis, vibrant city and still a beautiful city campus I'd go with Manchester. But then I'm jealous, as I'd do anything to be able to get in :P
Thank you everyone,
I have loads to think about!
Brilliant, thank you so much!

It does depend largely on what you'd like to study  All considered I'd go for:

1) Manchester
2) York

Good luck!

Are Sheffield, Durham, Exeter, Edinburgh, King's College London, Nottingham out of the question?

I beg you to visit wherever you think that you want to go before you actually accept. You can't entirely judge a place from photos - they say nothing of the layout, the atmosphere.

Did you even read the OP?!? He has already applied, and wanted your opinion on the places he has applied to. Not other universities.
