EdExcel Further Maths good enough for STEP?

A lot of people at my rival grammar school insist OCR maths is much harder and since is set by the parent company of OCR, is it likely to cover their syllabus more than EdExcel's?

Are there any specific topics known not to be covered by EdExcel which pop-up in the STEP (II and III) papers?

Thanks

Just read the specification. Edexcel has some advantages over OCR such as Edexcel students are more likely to be familar with conic sections. OCR students might understand half tangent substitutions and graphs of rational functions a little better.
