The most reliable/informative newspapers

Which newspaper/s or online news website would you recommend as the most reliable for a student? Just wondered since there are so many to choose from and so much debate about reliability, which do you think?

Also if you could mention its political stance (if it has one that would be cool) not sure i want to be reading the 'Torygraph' or anything too crazy.

Why not read a variety of papers, so you can see the various different perspectives on a story?

In terms of printed newspapers, the Telegraph (centre-right/right) Times (centre/centre-left or centre-right depending on how Murdoch feels) Guardian (centre-left) and Independent (centre/centre-left) are the only decent ones. I would read one from the left of the spectrum and one from the right to get the news into perspective.

Alternatively just read Reuters.

Is there such a thing as a reliable newspaper? Generally I'd stick to broadsheets, unless you're in the mood for reading some creative writing in a tabloid paper like the Daily Mail (always entertaining)
