Atheists are just arrogant agnostics
Atheists claim to base their views on evidence (or the lack thereof) of a higher power/God. However, they hold a belief. They believe that God doesn't exist.
Agnosticism is truly impartial, based on evidence, and not arrogant enough to make a conclusion as the evidence is inconclusive.

Re: Atheists are just arrogant agnostics
This argument has been done so many times. You can't force yourself to believe a god exists so it's pointless. There's no evidence, so why be open-minded? Agnostics are going to hell regardless if god were to exist.

Re: Atheists are just arrogant agnosticsI agree wholeheartedly, this is also true for theists as well(Original post by 8086)

Re: Atheists are just arrogant agnostics
What was the point in even starting this thread? Aren't there already like twenty war threads between theists and atheists/agnostics going already?
But anyway, you shot yourself in the foot with that ridiculous point you made there. Your statement goes both ways, fool. -
Re: Atheists are just arrogant agnosticsAnd which point would that be?(Original post by Bellrosk)

Re: Atheists are just arrogant agnostics
I'v come across this point before when reading an interview with Douglas Adams (some years back). His point was that whereas Theism is a belief based on faith, Atheism is not a belief just a conviction based on evidence which would (or should, not all atheists are as blind to the possibility of God as Dawkins) be capable of change. It is a conviction requireing no leap of faith/belief

Re: Atheists are just arrogant agnostics
No we are atheists because we have evidence based on science dating back to the neolithic ages not because we are arrogant. You filthy theists on the other hand believe in a "god" because you are lost in the sh!t of life, and are clutching at something to explain your **** hole of a life.

Re: Atheists are just arrogant agnostics
Atheism is when someone believes that there is no God.
Agnosticism is when someone believes that there could be a God.
Christianity is when someone believes that there is a God.
No, Atheism isn't arrogant Agnosticism, because the atheist doesn't believe that a God may exist. Christians don't base their decision to believe in God on any evidence, it is personal belief, and that's all the words (atheist, agnostic) means.
I think a better question, albeit maybe a wrong one to ask, would be "Are atheists arrogant in their beliefs and would agnosticism be a more reasonable belief system?" -
Re: Atheists are just arrogant agnosticsI would argue that these definitions are a tad nonsensical(and for instance, a better example would be the plot of theisticity, and gnosticity).(Original post by Boobies.)

I'm sure Dawkins would change his conviction with viable evidence.

Re: Atheists are just arrogant agnosticsThat would be Theism.(Original post by Boobies.)
Christianity is when someone believes that there is a God.
Christianity is a theistic religion
