Is it normal for a black cat to have black gums?

Is it normal for a black cat to have black gums?So i was checking out my cats gums as a random inspection and noticed he has black gums. I think hes always had it (just never noticed) and vets have never mentioned it. Is it actually normal for black cats to have black gums?
