Has anyone heard anything about post-offer open days for modern languages? I can't find anything about one anywhere and surely there won't be time much between the students coming back and us having to firm our offers? I'm very confused!! Is there not one at all because I have never seen UCL. I am also having a similar worry with Edinburgh!

Hey, I'm waiting for one more offer, but I'm really keen on confirming accomodation? Do you think I'll get a horrible room/residential area if I confirm at a later date?
What have you asked for...intercollegiate, catered or...?
    =]
Hi, sorry for this late response, haven't checked on this forum in ages...............

I put down UCL Halls as my first choice, but I can't remember much else I sent it that long ago now...

TBH I'm no wiser than you are on this one... lol. I just hope that I get a good room
I think that the UCL Halls should be okay, not 5* Luxury, but I assume it is better than some random place.

    Have you firmed yet?

Hey, thanks for the response. I have, but OMG...I spent ages considering which Halls I liked the most and soon realised that we had no say. =[
Anyway, I'm sending mine off tomorrow, hopefully. I've put halls as my first choice. I want a single room, and I'm leaving a message like...*...campus is preferred* It might work, not sure, though. Ensuite would be good, but not too bothered.
What have you applied for? =]

Re: Modern Languages at UCL 2011 applicants
I went for Ifor Evans hall, seen as it is the cheapest.
And I put down for a single room.

I didn't spend so much time on deciding, the price aspect narrowed it down quite a lot, and then I saw some pictures of Ifor Evans, and they looked reasonably nice... So that was that.

What did you say for the bit it asked: if there is no single room available, would you share instead?

I reluctantly put yes, because I want to be in the Halls with other ppl from the Uni, and at least with Halls we can complain about quality to some extent.

I guessed that sharing a room in the place I want with some one from the Uni, would be better than been lumbered with some other randomly allocated place...

Hopefully I'll get a single room, and I won't have to worry

No, but I'm interested in applying. Would you mind me asking what your offer was, and what other subjects you do?

    Thanks

    Of course, no problemmo!

I'm studying A Levels in French, English Lang/Lit combined, Classical Civilisations and Psychology (and GCSE Spanish).

My offer was AAB (A in French and AB in any two of the others). Hope that's useful
