BBC/Showtime "Episodes" - Starring Matt Leblanc and Some 'Green Wing' Cast
    2. Episodes (Starring Matt Le Blonc). - 9/10 (Has a lot of Promise).

Two episodes of the show have come out as pre-screener. Episodes is an upcoming satirical television sitcom starring MLB and some of the cast from Green Wing. Its basically about the Green Wing cast members (need to learn their names!) bringing a huge hit UK Tv show to America, and how basically American producers **** it all.

I was expecting this to be like Ricky Gervais's Extra's - both with a real-life look at an actors life (MLB) and also in its comedic sense (i.e. LOL comedy). Still this is a VERY GOOD show in my view and blends in both the American and British proclivities in comedy - not an easy task to achieve by any means.

    Definitely worth a watch

PS. US version of Shameless is also very good for those who haven't watched it (only the one episode out thus far though).

Gonna try to find this online, Green Wing is my love. I hope MLB isn't playing a Joey kind of character though :s

No, MLB is more playing himself - i.e. its not superficial, he shows a lot humility and is quite comedic throughout

Watched the first two episodes last night, I am so disappointed that it was so bad as the trailers 12 months ago looked incredible. Halfway through the second show I was actually checking the time to see how close to the end it was, and was actually annoyed that I had another 15 minutes to go :facepalm2:

Nothing was funny. I couldn't believe they did the little skit with the barrier guard twice let alone rolling it out for a fifth time by the end of the second ep. Hilarious Fortunately I just read that it's only a 7 episode season so the disappointment won't go on for too long. Matt LeBlanc was actually good though, just noone else was.

    Agreed.

I'm incredibly disappointed with it. I'll probably carry on watching it just because it's only 7 episodes and there is always a chance that it will improve along the way. But so far it's been largely unfunny.

    ……...
Bar those moments I have to fully agree with (the skit with the guard, bar the swearing scene, was appalling), but the general show was pretty good in my view - or rather, has potential, has people have to understand it takes time to set a show up.

I remember watching Arrested Development when it first started and didn't like it much, but after a few episodes it was pretty much another story - to become one of the best comedies of all time (not saying Episodes will necessarily become this).

There is potential I agree, but for me personally I find the leading couple really irritating in general not just in this. Will still watch the entire series despite my initial reaction so will be here to keep this thread alive :teeth:

The man is good, but the women can be grating at times - the people who really make the show are the assistants. The main one (forget her name?) is legend

Anyways, Parks and Recs/Archer etc all start in about 2 weeks so that's what I'm mainly looking forward to comedy wise

i know it sounds difficult (believe me, i thought that i'd be watching Weeds until it finished) but you have to accept it's never going to be good, and watch something worthwhile instead. i can give you some suggestions if you want

    Ron Swanson >>>>>> Life

I love Parks and Rec, probably my favourite comedy on TV at the moment. Sunny was also such an excellent show, but this season has been by-far its worst, to the point where its not even funny anymore. Community and the usuals of Office, 30 Rock etc are all top-notch too.

Check our Archer if you haven't - depending on your comedic tastes, you may actually like it
