Maximum loan and grant... ?

I heard one of my friends have just recieved a bursary from our university as she recieves full loan and grant. However, I'm not sure how much the maximum grant and loan is. Does anybody know? I recieve rougly £6100, but somebody said the maximum is around £6400. If this is the case Im just wondering why there's £300 missingg...

Maximum maintenance grant is £2,906 and I think you get 50p off the maximum loan for every £1 grant, so you can't actually get maximum loan if you get max grant.

Edit: Here says max loan is £4,950 so your friend would get 4950-(0.5*2906)=£3487. Add that to the maintenance grant and it is £6393, I may be completely wrong though :erm:

OP what makes you think you're entitled to the maximum?
Total loan and grant I get, outside London, self supporting for 4 years before I started uni is £6403, £2906 of this is grant and £3497 is a loan.
