I applied like a month ago and still haven't got anything... that is so worrying. Maybe because I am applying from Ireland? Anyway, I enquired via mail but I immediately got a message back that the office is on holidays till 4th of January... O _ O

Also, I am so so so nervous about the portfolio, I really want to get in (seems like the only chance to get out of Ireland, haha), but I feel like all my work isn't worth crap. I got quite a strong reference and the personal statement is alright (hate talking about myself, good thing they don't want us to talk about the pieces!), but the portfolio itself... I'm not really sure about this. I am especially concerned with the scrap books (still haven't got one) and this whole development thing - even if I experiment with stuff my pieces end up looking very very finished, and I hardly ever do prep work.

Knowing my luck I won't get in, story of my life!

Okay I will spare you the rant, I hope guys we will all see each other in september!

Haha!I feel the same! You wrote all my thoughts in a post :P (in better english of course!)
I'm really worried about the sketchbooks!I did not use them a lot but even if i did it's very hard to show your sketchbooks in a power point file, thinking that you can't put too many pieces.
I never was pesimistic but I just try to think realistically.I mean, come on!There are 3000 applicants and only 600 places.Anyway I will apply again next year.
    In which pathway you applied?

Erm... I am really worried because if the folks outside of UK are not allowed to come themselves for portfolio audition then I am seriously screwed - I need more time finishing it properly instead of taking care of powerpoint presentation and all... :/ Sketch books would be a real problem also. I hope they don't mind though, some sources are a little vague about it.
Good that I don't live further away, then flying over to London would be a problem.

I put diagnostics / art & design, I couldn't decide between the two...

I think that neither the Uk applicants will attend to a intreview, they will be judged only by their portfolio.

That's what I mean by review, there will be no interview, just people watching your portfolio... and crossing your name out of the list. ; (

i think we should stop getting depressed over it :') i mean whats done is done! we're going to hand in the portfolio soon so, we'll just have to make the most out of it yeh?

and tbh im not too fussed if i dont get in, cos i dont mind going somewhere else and i dont think im good enough anyway! alevels actually brought me down. i have too many other stuff to do other than art!

but anyways, dont panick every! im sure you all are so amazingly talented people, if they dont take you, they have their reasons so dont let it gets to you! x

Helloooo, I found out last week that I got on to the foundation 2011/2012 course but I had my portfolio review in December so thats the only reason it was so early! I did the portfolio for fashion design short course there and it was unbelievably helpful so I'd recomend it to anyone thinking of applying because I literally had three things in my portfolio when i started the course in september and over the 10 weeks filled a sketch book and made a massive portfolio. I'm from Ireland too igorPL! I moved over a few months ago to take the short course

yeh but thats the thing, not everyone can afford for the short courses and now its as if whoever has the money to go onto the portfolio courses can get in.. not that i've anything against it tho! and well done for the offer!

You see, the problem is, I don't live in England, and getting to London seems the only chance to easily get out of Ireland (no offence, Irish folks)... It's too late to apply anywhere else so it is big deal for me. That being said, I still didn't get my portfolio request, I can't sleep because of that.

    @Bexi415
If I only knew... : C How much did you pay and what when did you do it? Buying your chance to be in CSM does not seem a bad thing (AFAIK they tend to look more nicely at international students whot pay 10k+ fees...) I don't know what to do if I don't get in and I freak out, Galway is definitely out of question (all of the people I know are going there... no thanks), Dublin would be only NCAD but I can't make exclusive portfolio for them and Limerick, the only likeable option is sort of killed off by the city itself (ARRGH)...
Wait another year? I would probably freak out, althogh it does mean rather profitable development... still, I want to get out ASAP... I guess I could leave to London straight after LC, but I mean, living by yourself without any perspectives is rather hard... dunno. Need to focus on Portfolio and call to London tomorrow, knowing my luck they forgot about me/ I don't exist to them...

    yet again, [rant mode off]

    Hi everyone!

I just sent my application for the foundation at CCW today because the teacher that was writing my letter of recommendation took for evvveerrr to make it (although it was quite beautiful). I’m a bit worried that they won’t get it because of some unfortunate event, believe me when I say that these things tend to happen to me. :bricks:How long did it take for you guys to get the confirmation email saying they got it?

Btw I’m sorry about my English, I try my best but I'm not a native speaker.

Good luck with your interviews and applications everyone!

Should I call them? Or should I just trust that they got it? Did you apply to CCW to Kai Hiwatari? Sorry if I’m being annoying but when I get nervous about something I tend to bombard people with questions. Thank you for the answer btw
