Ares on a mac

Does anyone know if Ares works with macs? I found it but it's an .exe file that I can't open. Is there a mac version I'm missing or is it just impossible?

looks like ares is for windoze only. but there are ways of using other mac enabled clients to connect to the ares network. this site has 2 mac clients for ares, as well as clients to a bunch of other p2p networks

i've managed to get Ares on my computer...but it's windows. don't think mac supports it, but stuff takes ages anyway to download...

yeah. the firewalls block everything. the only way is to set up tunnelling to a computer that's physically outside the network. I don't think even programs like http-tunnel and your-freedom are guaranteed to work.
Yeh i dont know if its cos of the slow net connection but nothing seems to download from ares on room pc's.

ares is blocked since last year it seems. its on the list of p2p programs on the uni website, telling people what to look for and stuff. its a huge long list. best to just ssh tunnel
