Why does poverty in Eastern Europe tend to get overlooked..

..in favour of the tropics. Albania, Romania, Ukraine etc are wayy tougher to live in than Sub Saharan Africa. Yet the mainstream media nearly always bleats about the blacks..

so what was it like living in the poorest parts of Albania, Romania, Ukraine and Sub Saharan Africa? I trust you kept your experiences well documented?
Currently, the African situation is a lot worse, although when Ceau?escu was overthrown, wasn't there a lot of support for Romania, in particular, the orphans and unwanted kids born under his reign.
