Westboro Baptist Church to protest funeral of 9-year-old killed in Arizona shootings

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1346186/Arizona-shootings-law-stop-Westboro-Baptist-Church-300ft-funerals.html :facepalm2:

Why has nobody ever ran into a crowd of them and started firing?

I think we'd all be celebrating their funerals.

These people make me feel ill.

In what way does Christianity advocate causing more grief to a grieving family!?

I vote we gauge their eyes out with rusty forks.

But seriously, they're pricks.
Why is that church trolling IRL?

I don't quite understand their position.

They're saying that god sent the shooter because giffords was pro-choice, divorced, and promoted gay rights.

When one of the Phelps family gets run over by a truck driven by a homosexual US soldier, I wonder if they'll thank God for purging the world of 'sinful faggotry'?
I'm so glad all these people are on the Home Office "no entry" list.

They are trolls. They want the attention so they can feel their views are more legitimate.

Do they say God hate everyone except them?

But death/illness is punishment for sins (according to them) so when the perverted leader finally dies... well, that'll be a good day.

Give it time and i doubt many people will mourn the loss.

THese people are vile foul excuses of human beings, its ironic that they are not dumb redneck hicks they are highly intelligent people who hide behind the American constituion to spread this torrent of hate.

He's eighty-one, it can't be much longer now
PEOPLE REALISE THIS 'PROTEST' WON'T ACTUALLY HAPPEN YES?

Everyone realises these people are no more than real-life trolls and the Arizona state government is rushing in a law (to be confirmed/voted on either today or tomorrow at the very latest), which shall ban any form of protest/picketing during the funeral of any individual in the state at any time (or protest/picketing can only take place X distance away from any funeral, with X being a fairly large buffer/distance of course.

Its acts like these which make people question the validity of something such as freedom of speech and the freedom to protest peacefully etc, but its an important principle which should remain even for the likes of these morons, I think given the distance, the protest will be largely ignored and/or not noticeable...
I dare somebody to send them a John Barrowman CD in the post.

The ban would only stop protests being held within 300ft of a funeral. 300ft isn't very far.

What is there to "protest" at a funeral?

Protest at political rallies all you like, protest outside of federal buildings and courthouses, not at funerals.

It's not even about Christianity imo - it's about being an at least decent human being lol.

I never said there is anything to "protest at a funeral" did I? No, I didn't.
;
Of course its insensitive and simply a caustic action undertaken by the WBC, but thats the point, they want the attention. They shouldn't protest at all at any funeral - be it this girls, or the many other 00's they already picketed, such as those of fallen soldiers and homosexuals etc.

But we all have the freedom to protest and indeed freedom of speech (providing its not racist, homophobic etc, upon which the law can be brought in). This applies even to morons like the WBC (though I don't see this helping their cause in any way and moreover, should cause more detriment than anything else)….
Professional trolls is what they are. They are a family of lawyers. They preach hate, picket, and when they are assaulted or prevented, they sue - they exploit holes in the law as well as the seemingly not unreasonable desire of everyone to hate them. By writing about them you give them EXACTLY what they want. Stop! It's hard, I was fascinated by them at first, but you have to leave them be. Starve them of anger and you starve them of money.

They wear clothes and hold placards that say "god hates fags".

Isn't it technically not freedom of speech if you're not allowed to be racist or homophobic? What about the rights of mourning family, or the rights of the child to be at peace on her funeral? Isn't that something we would all ask for too? Or does that only work up to 300ft away.

Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought WBC picket signs were homophobic? Or are they not any more - I don't know. And if it doesn't help their cause, then what purpose is there apart from disruption to a funeral? What is the point of free speech to the family when the family clearly would not want them there in the first place?
