Got rejected for Physics, had a very nice rejection letter with wishy-washy phrases such as: 'we consider you a highly competitive candidate' and 'we believe that, with your academic record...you would be able to make a competetive application to the University of Oxford.'
Anyone else get such sugar coated phrases?

Still a bit gutted that by moving about 2 streets the chances of my application has been severely reduced.

I didn't do as well in my gcses as most people here, 3 A*s, 5 As and a B. :/ but I also did additional maths and AS maths in year 11 and got As for both, so I'm hoping that will make me stand out (I applied for maths btw). But they will probs use my school and post code against me + only 10% get through . I'm too scared to check my post

now that i've been rejected, i can come out/be open

i live on a poor street,(not overtly poor but low rating)

i got rejected, it makes absolutely no difference...they say they look at it, but really, they don't.
