Few questions about heels!
I only own one pair or heels, barring my school shoes which only have a 1" heel. The other pair of shoes I own are platform style, I'd say they look about 3-4" and they have don't have a full back, it's a really thin adjustable strap, if that's of any use!
I don't know whether it's because I don't wear them often, I find it quite hard to walk in them
I look really ridiculous!
I've tried on some boots of someone elses, of around about the same height and I could walk in them fine.
tl;dr - Just answer questions.
1. Which type of shoes (with heels) are the best to wear to walk in?
2. Is there a way I can 'teach myself' to walk in them, apart from practice, as I just cannot walk in them!
3. What's a decent heel size that's manageable, but not to small as I am pretty short.
Thanks. -
Re: Few questions about heels!1. For walking in heels, its best if you have something that has a small strap over the top or around the ankle of something so that they definitely stay on and you have more support.(Original post by Mega Nerd)

2. Absolutely - walk around your house in them. When I buy a new pair of heels, I walk around my house in them with a pair of socks on to wear them in a bit and stretch them with the socks!
3. I would say a heel like : http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/s...ourt_210488201 or a shoe like this for support: http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/s...otie_213435801
Totally depends what you want the heels for to be honest!

Re: Few questions about heels!
1) Absolutely need a back to start with. After you've had some practice backless are fine, although 2"1/2 plus is not ideal on shaky ground..
2) Practice makes perfect. The trick to heels is to put the back of your foot at the back of the shoe (hence the need to start with heels with backs) and walk on your heels not the toes.
It feels a little like you're about to do a backflip at first but you just get used to it after practically no time..
3) I'm 5" so I know how you feel :L I tend to wear 3-4" on a night out, for college 2"1/2 is manageable but as long as you walk on your heels not your toes you can walk in any size heel for any amount of time pain-free (: -

I guess wearing stilettos for the first time wearing heels isn't a good idea
The idea of walking on your heels seems strange when you think about it, and I'm probably walking on my toes! If only I could see myself, haha.

Re: Few questions about heels!
Booties would probably be your best bet for having a good heal. I frequently purchase from this place called Macy's. Its an American company, but you can get postage to the UK, with a little extra payment. But yeh, by the sound of it, this is the type of shoe your after so have a look.
