Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim SocietyWell, ****. MW3 would be way more popular though, I shall cling to what little hope I have.(Original post by aliphatic)
Also, everyone who's saying theirs has changed to fully despatched today from Asda - MW3 was 'fully despatched' for four days and still turned up a day late. I'm not expecting mine till Christmas now. :| -
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim SocietyI've seen them online on XBL, saying that they're playing Skyrim. They got some other games early as well.(Original post by DH-Biker)
You sure?
I was under the impression from one of Todd Howard's earlier talks about SKYRIM that no one will get it early. Shop staff aren't allowed it early, whilst you can download it off Steam, I don't believe you can actually play it till Thursday/Friday midnight.
One thing they wanted specifically was a global release. I believe its only Bethesda employees and that one kid who got it early. No one else should be able too... Even illegally that shouldn't be possible. -
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Society
Spent a couple of hours watching SC2 casting with dimaga and idra but everyone just kept talking about Skyrim. So I gave in and just brought it on steam. Unlocks in 4 hours. Started pre-loading. If it's done by midnight I might just stay up. It does look pretty epic.
Played some Dragon Age earlier to see if I was in the "mood" for an RPG. Seems like a yes, discovered loads of items I never gathered in previous games. I just hope there isn't a penalty for massacaring npcs en-masse for fun.
5% preloaded already, seems steam servers are going epic. Hard to imagine it's the same company that was steaming **** in '04

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim SocietyI know exactly what you mean. i've been playing it for 7 hours hahaha!(Original post by Kaph)
It's well worth the wait. I've been playing it for a couple of hours and it's just...wow. -
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim SocietyIf you are downloading on steam, change your download server in options to Ireland or something. I went from 140kbps (london) to 4100kbps.(Original post by RyanT)

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim SocietyAs I said earlier in the thread, I have 10 days off but I'm away for 24 hours for a night out from tomorrow afternoon until Sunday (and also can only really play at night, as I have a toddler). I can picture it now... me, sat in the pub, laughinhg along with all of the jokes like everything's normal... but... in my head, I'll be off in the land of Skyrim. *sigh*.(Original post by Wick3d)
I got my early and I have to be honest I pulled a sickie from school to stay at home and play, thank god I have tomorrow off and no lessons on Monday.
4 days of uninterrupted Skyrim fun, best thing is that my girlfriend is playing as well!
Thankfully, the older you get, the less you give a **** about being an unashamed, out and proud geek.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim SocietyNot worried. Just a little disappointed(Original post by Zorg)
My house mate's arrived this afternoon from Tesco, ordered last Sat. I think. I wouldn't worry about not getting it early, should be there tomorrow.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Society
I'm happy to wait till tomorrow, but I'm glad its knocking on well.
Reviewers are all extatic, and its always coming in high.
Looking dead set to be game of the year, its a shame its 2011 really. Game of the Decade can't be decided on the basis of the first year.
Well, it'll be the best game I've ever played. No work till Monday, a weekend to play it and I've told everyone I'm locking myself away for two days to whore it. After a few weeks, then, and only then, will I consider playing the other games I'm getting tomorrow.
