Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information - GameInformer magazine scans andThere was a Dragon mod for Oblivion PC. Looked awesome (when I viewed it on Youtube).(Original post by MHorman)
That would be AWESOME...
Having like stables of dragons outside each city that you can jump onto and soar over the cities would be really immersive.
Wish granted it seems.Or just my own pet dragon that can act like Fawkes(from fallout 3) at times and help me in battles and then become my flying machine when i want would be awesome.
Players can learn unique abilities called “dragon shouts” by absorbing the souls of dragons – one of the benefits of the dragonborn - of which there are over 20 in the game and each is formed from three words of power. They can push enemies away, slow down time, transport you and even summon a dragon, amongst other things. -
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information - GameInformer magazine scans and
Why don't they get rid of fast travel? It makes the game seem less epic. Bring some form of taxi like the siltstriders.
And get rid of the fricking radar. You don't even need to think when it comes to quests. If you had to go into a dungeon to retrieve an object you'd just follow the arrow. In morrowind you had to find the objects yourself which was good.
Remember the dwermer puzzle box from Morro?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information - GameInformer magazine scans andYeah, I'd agree with that. I ignored so much crap just on a direct line because of that radar, another thing that totally breaks immersion.(Original post by ilyking)

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information Threadwell... the fact that the radar arrow is available will force me to use it, because I know it is there.(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)
There will be a HUD free option which solves the radar annoyance and enhances the experience I guess.
Similarly with fast travel, I could always run by foot if I wanted to, but since the fast travel option is there I just have to use it.
OP, did you play Morrowind? If you did I'm sure you'd agree with me!
I'm sure you miss the Mage teleport/ Boat rides to Soltheim (around morrowind too) and the Classic siltstriders.
And I also think they should bring back levitate. It makes the game feel more... GREAT
I used to levitate and then throw my magic down/ arrows. It was also fun to use because you could get to higher places and take special armor, and the fact that you levitated to get the armor/weapon makes it feel more valuable. Like the armor in Tel Fyr.
And also you should be allowed to kill Main quest NPC's so that when part of the main quest comes up and you had to go to person X but person X is dead and you know you're screwed, then suddenly the sky turns red and a message comes up saying that some paradox stops you from fulfilling the prophecy and Ah!
I'm getting carried away... Morrowind memories.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information ThreadI know what you mean. Fable 2/3 had the golden trail system where it would lead you, literally, to the next quest/objective/checkpoint. Of course, it could be turned off but the temptation to use it constantly was too great.(Original post by ilyking)

I'm extremely ashamed to make the confession that I did not play Morrowind.OP, did you play Morrowind? If you did I'm sure you'd agree with me! -
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information ThreadIt's not too late. You can play Morro now on your PC and use the Morrowind graphics extender mod. It's quite literally Morrowind modded so that it has Oblivion graphics. The graphics are exactly the same as Oblivion.(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)

Look at Youtube videos for the graphics extender, you'll be amazed
Mind you your PC has to be pretty nifty so that it can handle it!

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information ThreadYou're the second person to recommend me the graphic extender mod with Morrowind. Anyhow, I had a look at some Youtube videos (of the most recent mod release) and it looks really good. Think I might invest some time into this in the run up to Skyrim.(Original post by ilyking)

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information ThreadAlso when you kill a main quest NPC you get a quest that offers you one opportunity to fix the paradox!(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)

Sorry, that was random and unnecessary but I had to let out my inner-nerd.

A bit like getting kicked out of the guilds and a quest to get back in? [Oblivion]
I want the unicorn.
Or a flying horse.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information Thread(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)
There's going to be a lot of information regarding the game (features, graphical look, content, story and hopefully, gameplay) in the upcoming few months. Thought I would create a thread which I, or anyone else, can update regularly with whatever snippets of information that are released. The first piece of information to come out was the trailer and since then GameInformer have covered it exclusively with a few pages worth of content on the game.
Every time I update the OP, it will be under a red and underlined date.

The Technology Behind The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
A thread on TSR that actually serves a purpose! This game is going to be the epitome of epic. Just the soundtrack makes me want to do things to my 360 that I'm pretty sure are illegal.
I am particularly interested in how they're revamping the third person perspective with the new, fluid animations. -

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information Thread
Cheers for putting this thread together Ape ^_^
Way to rain on the parade, haha. I think that with the experienced they've gained on the past few games, they'll be able to really hit the heights with this one.(Original post by Sammydemon)
I bet it won't be as good as Mowwowind - what a perfect game that was. -
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information ThreadI hope so.(Original post by Mo-Amin)

Away with the console-induced fast travel though. Make 'em walk there themselves the lazy gets! -
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information ThreadI used fast travel way too much in Oblivion. The genius with Morrowind was that it kinda dissuaded you from it and you'd encounter crazy shizz on your travels...(Original post by Sammydemon)

Like that guy with the crazy acrobatics boots that fell from the sky! =D
Not just guards..... on horseback.... defending you from like, mudcrabs... -
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - News and Information ThreadExactly! It's so much more rewarding to make your way manually to your destination, and exciting at the propect of finding new things.(Original post by Mo-Amin)

Morrowind was also a lot more detailed, but it was very slow at times with a lot of reading and the combat wasn't so console friendly. It was a much more hardcore game that could really only work with a dedicated PC gamer rather than a more casual console player.
