Why are GAME such a-holes when it comes to returning games???
So my sister brought a ps3 game from GAME today, however after playing it she decided she doesnt want it anymore  I know GAME can be real $%£^"£ when it comes to returning games (I usually get mine from Gamestation- they are much nicer ).
So now she wants me to return the game.
Will game take it back if i have the receipt (even though the game has been played once)?
Do they only take games back if they are broken?
Has anyone ever successfully returned a game to them?

    thanks

Can't say i've ever tried to return a game there but if they won't accept it without being damaged they might allow exchanges. If not just sell it on ebay

Yeah i considered selling it on Ebay. Only problem is we will be losing money because I doubt it would sell for the price she paid for it.
Bloody GAME, surely there has to be some law that allows people to return goods in situations like this

    Re: GAME return policy?
Game have a 10-day return policy at their discretion (so people don't just "rent" games and take them back within 10 days).

If the game is disk-based, it should be fine if you have a receipt and say something like "it was bought as a present, but someone else already bought her it". Don't say it was played or anything (this is only possible, of course, if you didn't scratch the disk up).

If it's cart-based (nintendo ds, for example) then it saves your data onto the cartridge, so you'll need to absolutely wipe it clean before returning it or they'll know you've been having a wee shot on it, realised you didn't like it, and just returning it due to "not fancying it any more."

    But you should be cool.

    Hope I helped!

Deserve to get rejected, you cant just play something once then return it. What if you completed it on your first session?

Thanks- only problem with retuning it is, its been opened. So if i say someone else already brought her the game, they might wonder why the game had been opened then (because she already had one)
When i say its been opened i mean the plastic around the games case has been removed.

They don't always sell new games in cellophane by the way. I used to work in both Game and Gamestation; sometimes we had to "gut" the games; it's when you take the disk and booklet out of the case so the case can sit on the shelf, and file the "guts" in the cabinet.

Usually we did that with about ten or so of the copies, and placed the rest (sealed copies) into the cabinet beside them.

Just say that it didn't have cellophane on it and the guy took the disk/booklet out of the cabinet when you bought it.

THANK YOU!!! This is perfect, now I can just lie and say someone else got her the game as well
So they will probably take it if i say there was no cellophane on it, and that it hasnt been played?

    Thanks

Not yet my mum was going to give it to someone else but I dont think she did so I might see how much I can get for it better than nothing I suppose!

I think my bro has returned to Gamestation before, he doesn't tend to use game. I bought the Sims 3 from Game when it came out and they said when I was at the tills that I couldn't return it, so surely they would have told her if she couldn't.

Only tell them that if they ask...don't start saying, "Can I return this BTW IT HASN'T BEEN PLAYED AND THERE WASN'T EVEN ANY CELLOPHANE ON IT ANYWAY."

Yeah! like I said, it's always at the discretion of the staff, but as long as the disk looks new, just say you bought a duplicate present, and if they even so much as ask about the cellophane, say it was sold that way, the dude put the booklet and disk in from the cabinet.

    Sorted!

Those bastards  I stopped going to GAME when i brought a game, and came back to return it about an hour later (cant remember why, i was about 12), but they wouldnt refund it!
Last time I went to gamestation they gave me a discount on the game and one of them big walkthrough booklets for free!!!

Whenever game sells a game, they always put the anti tamper sticker which needs to be removed before the box can be opened. the only way to return a game and get a full refund is:

    1) either that sticker is still there and does not look like it has been tampered with. If the game was sold in celophane, then the celophane needs to still be there.

    2) the game is faulty. This would include if the game keeps locking up, or the disc is unreadable. It is possible that they will test the game, especially if you state the disc is unreadable.

Beyond that, Game has got a fair strict returns policy. It stops people from buying a game, playing it and then returning it with the default returns period or indeed buying a game, copying it and then returning it.
