how do unis know if you have resat a module?

hi all...

Can anyone tell me how a uni knows you have resat a module within an a-level?

Eg suppose you resit a jan module in summer

You tell them if it's pending or, if you've already done it by the time you apply, they won't know.

Did you put in the original module grade on your UCAS application? Did you tutor write it in your reference?

I'm resitting one of the exams from the summer and I put the original grade on my UCAS, but my lecturer included the fact I was resitting it in her reference.

I have all my offers but made no reference to resits, just put my grade down, will universities still count my resit if it is higher than my first sitting was, even though i didnt mention it anywhere?

Well you wouldnt get your jan results until march anyway, and i'd guess you're UCAS would be done and sent off by then. So i cant see how, unless this is a third resit? but i did a resit from my summer AS in the january and just put my summer grade.
