Ive never had trouble once i'm a couple seasons in. Usually offer a player out at twice their value and then decrease. I manage to sell most at about 150%+ of their value.(Original post by Darth Vader 7)
Why does everyone have an easy time selling players? I struggled so much to sell RVP at only 30 and only managed to get £6m for him. I just accepted that it was the norm in FM12. Obviously, it's not. Are there any techniques to get the most money for your players?
Most successful sale would be afellay. Bought him for 1.7m, end of his 3rd season with me man city offer 22m. I managed to negotiate up to 30m. So made a nice 28.3m profit from him -
Re: Football Manager Society II
In March of my 4th (i think) season. Just won the league cup, got knocked out of the Europa League by Werder Bremen 8-4 0.o and went out of the FA Cup early, currently battling for 5 in the league. If I keep my great form up, I could sneak 4th. Going to have a revamp and cut down my squad in the summer. Arsenal are trying to flog Oxlaide-Chamberlain for £5.5m so I'm definitely going to try and sign him. Spurs also have a wonderkid who wants out. He'll probably cost over £20m but hopefully he'll be worth it. His stats are insane. Going to get rid of a few players as 29 in the first team is far too many, as well as sort out the Reserves and U18's. Signed a CB regen from Swansea in January who looked amazing, and got a 4.4 rating in his 3rd start -_-
Van Persie is also going for £3m (down to 3*'s) but wages are a huge stumbling block
Sorry, it was slightly unclear.(Original post by Mess.)
I don't really understand the question
If you mean tactically, just change it. Otherwise, if you mean coach and scout report duty and role just ignore it and add to the stats you think are needed with individual training.
If you want to train them in a new position then set it on training and play them there.
This was posted from The Student Room's iPhone/iPad App
Take Paul Pogba, for instance. He is currently recommended to be played in CM as an Adv. Playmaker with the duty of support. I was asking if someone has posted some info somewhere on the stats to increase to change a players recommended role, to something like a DLP or a CM
EDIT:
Just had the most appalling intake of youth candidates. Pretty much every one was 0.5*'s. Any ways of fixing this for upcoming seasons?
Also my assistant (Sidnei Lobo) keeps saying X player should not be taking free kicks/corners/penalties when the stats show they're clearly the best in the squad. Should I get a new assistant?
Last one, I promise...
People disappearing off the game. Juan Pablo Angel became an assistant manager, now I can't find him. Also can't find Ray Wilkins.Last edited by jackf1337; 07-08-2012 at 22:10. -
Re: Football Manager Society IIOK - if a player's natural position is say CM, then he'll be adept at any of the roles that that position allows. If you were to try make your team's tactics and roles fit every player then you'd slowly lose your mind.(Original post by jackf1337)

As for youth intakes, try asking for more money and increase your scouting network. Also, you have to use your instinct sometimes - take your assistant's advice with a pinch of salt - if a player has decent/good stats in the key attributes for the position they play then its worth gambling and giving them a contract. You don't need a new assistant, just need to trust your own instinct a tad - Rooney came back from an injury and Phelan was telling me Welbeck was better, vice versa a few weeks later.
As for the last point, staff retire after a certain time without a job. -
Re: Football Manager Society IIOh it's not been easy. I've managed to sell the big names who have been performing for good fees (Hamsik for 30mil, T.Silva for 20mil, D.Silva for 18mil, Nasri for 22mil) but equally I've had to release players like Yaya Toure, Balotelli, Lahm and a couple of others on frees because no one will buy them and their wages are ridiculous (not sure what I was thinking at the time). Been trying to offload Lahm for 18 months now and still nothing - even when I try and sell for 1k over 48 months(Original post by Darth Vader 7)

I'm going to attempt to get Watford as my feeder club.. however I think I'll wait for the summer and then keep reloading my save until I get a feeder club. Its already cost me a year (when Boro turned me down) and then board came back with only league 1 and lower options, since you have to wait 6 months after each request, it's bloody annoying! -
Re: Football Manager Society IIFeeder clubs for me - Ipswich, Antwerp, FC Twente, River, Shakhtar and Spartak Moscow.(Original post by Zerforax)

I get to choose who I work with.

River or Shakhtar, surely?!

Re: Football Manager Society IINo. That's a list of my current feeder clubs.(Original post by KingMessi)
I thought those were a selection of feeder clubs your board had chosen for you to choose from?

Re: Football Manager Society III only send players to Ipswich and Twente, unless they need a WP in which case they go to Antwerp. The rest are for scouting and first option on their players.(Original post by KingMessi)
Ah. It all makes sense now.
I only usually take Championship/League One clubs on so my players can get game experience in England...
-
Re: Football Manager Society III can imagine having first option on some of those River Plate players is rather nice?(Original post by Kevmeister)

I have KV Mechelen as my Belgium feeder
Got Okayama FC (Japan) as a commercial feeder
Then Oldham and Bury but both are in league 2.
Ideally I want a championship side tbfh.. stopped buying so many youngsters because they keep stalling in development from lack of game time
-
Re: Football Manager Society IINot benefited from it yet as its a relatively new link-up, but it'll help in the next few seasons as the game will be mainly regens in that time.(Original post by KingMessi)

Yeah, I have Grampus as a commercial link, and the board are currently in talks about linking up with DC United in the US.(Original post by Zerforax)

Does your board not ask you if you want to be involved in choosing the team? -
Re: Football Manager Society IIYea they ask but last time I suggested, it got rejected by the other club so figured I'd let the board try since then I can accept and it will be linked (but unfortunately they made crap choices).(Original post by Kevmeister)

Almost at the end of the season so will suggest Watford then since they have great youth facilities and training. -
Re: Football Manager Society III just lost mine to a Runtime Error. Sucks.(Original post by MattyJo)
Just lost my second save to an XML error, is there a way to fix this?
