Re: TSR Tennis SocietyYou're on this forum, too?! I reckon Fed will dispatch Del Potro pretty easily, and depending on how Nadal holds up, he might have a chance to beat him. If he DOES beat Nadal, I reckon he'll beat Djokovic. If he doesn't, he doesn't.(Original post by Zhy)
Djokovic has lost his standard set to a nobody. Same thing happened last AO, he lost a set 7-6 to Dodig. Big deal. All it means now is that he will win the rest of his matches in straight sets, probably delivering several bagels along the way. -
Re: TSR Tennis SocietyHow's he going to beat Djokovic if Murray is in the final?(Original post by JOR2010)

Re: TSR Tennis SocietyNo, 03:30 GMT is the time; Australia is 11 hours ahead. But I'm guessing that Fed-DP won't be on until around 4:30-5 because the women's matches (particularly Wozniacki-Clijsters) look like they'll be long ones. Unless both Azarenka and Clijsters turn up in top form and wipe their opponents out.(Original post by Rakas21)
Not sure where you are all getting your information but Fed vs Del is scheduled for 04:30 GMT. There is Azarenka and Clysters playing before so there is a chance they could overrun.
Would love to see Federer-del Potro but just can't take another night in a row of broken sleep. Will see Nadal-Berdych though which should be a good one. -
Re: TSR Tennis Societyisn't it more like 4am? melbourne is 11 hours ahead of us, right?(Original post by emmaaa88)
Nice one Hewitt
Glad Serena has gone, I'm hoping Kim wins as well.
Fed vs Delpo tonight
At 3am! In a way that's good as it means less stressing about it as I'll be asleep... but still it's an annoying time!

Re: TSR Tennis SocietyApologies, forgot which side of the draw each of them were in. In that case, if he can get to the final, Federer should beat Murray. If he doesn't, I do fancy Murray's chances.(Original post by JaggySnake95)

Re: TSR Tennis SocietyDidn't know they're playing. I'll definetly tune in to watch that, looks like it'll be a cracker, woz's credentials as no.1 will be tested by this.(Original post by Sirocco11)

Re: TSR Tennis SocietyThe site i looked at said 05:30 (GMT+1), logic therefore dictates that for the UK it will be 04:30 if as scheduled.(Original post by Sirocco11)

I reckon Clijsters will win, though I hope not. I don't see Wozniacki being No. 1 by the end of the week regardless, which is a shame because I love the fact that some people get annoyed by the fact she's No. 1. Maybe dating Rory McIlroy will help Wozniacki though. If any young athlete knows how to bounce back from a massive disappointment then it's McIlroy, so he may have been helping her on the mental side of things.(Original post by internet tough guy)

Re: TSR Tennis SocietyHe appears on the Maths forums quite a bit :') I really hope Federer can bag this slam, but the courts look a little slow, which favours Nadal and Djokovic. I think Clijsters will win, her game and resolve are second to none, especially for a woman of her size!(Original post by TheMagicRat)

Re: TSR Tennis SocietyWhat do you mean by that? Height or body size? Because Clijsters is a reasonable height for the women's game at around 5"9 I think.(Original post by JOR2010)

Re: TSR Tennis SocietyIf you're 5"2 I doubt you'd be able to play tennis tbh. Although Cibulkova makes it work at 5"3.(Original post by JOR2010)
What a revelation, I thought she was like 5'2.. -
Re: TSR Tennis Society
Wow, Federer took Del Potro in straight sets (6-4, 6-3, 6-2).

Nadal vs Berdych still on now, one set each.
I have to say that i am now leaning towards Federer for the tournament, he is unbeaten since the US Open and looking pretty brilliant. -
Re: TSR Tennis SocietyThe Federer vs Del Potro match already finished, it is Nadal vs Berdych playing now.(Original post by st_23)
I just have a feeling that the winner will come from the djokovic Murray side of the draw. But I could easily be wrong. Anyone watching the Federer del potro match?
In terms of form and fitness, Federer looks brilliant (has not properly lost since the US Open). On top of that, hard courts are his almost joint faviourate surface.
The main thing that has held Federer back in recent years is fatigue. If you can hold him for 2-3 hours then he will fall to pieces but if Federer gets off the line quickly, then he rarely loses even now.
Nadal will be the toughest match as he plays with a slower playing style however if Federer can beat Nadal then i do not see Murray beating him certainly and would favour Federer over Djokovic.
