Very interesting interview, particularly his answer to the first question.

''Hopefully the other guys have also seen things from my game that they have tried to copy as well''

, what? his WTA second serve?

The article provided me with a bundle of laughs. 8 Grand Slams? What is he smoking? ROFL. Born in the 70s, Borg would destroy him. Born in the 80s and he'll get swatted away by lendl, connors, mcenroe. Born in the 90s, sampras and aggasi would have him for breakfast on all surfaces. Born in the 00's and...well we all know what happened. Born in the 2010's, perhaps maybe, just maybe, Harrison or Tomic will allow him a chance to get to the final,....and then do a straight sets over him .

Andy Murray is one of the all-time greats. He completely outclasses Federer 8-7.

Andy Murray, one of the all time greats. Lets look at his slams final record:

Sets won: 0

Sets lost: 9

Definetly one of the all time greats . The likes of Federer, Sampras, Borg and Nadal have got nothing on that.
Just how many sets have Federer and Nadal got in finals.

Absolutely outrageous behaviour from Stepanek. Gives a middle finger to Tipsarevic after losing a close 5-setter. I hope he retires from the sport.

I'm gonna assume this is not taken out of context by your trolling, but Stepanek's always been a bit of a prick. There's a great vid of Gonzalez smacking a 120 mph forehand at him right in the arse.

Dan Evans seemed like a bit of a **** yesterday. A lot of times when he won a tough point off Rochus he was saying 'allez' to get in his face.

In fairness to Murray, I believe he was saying 'even if I'd won 7 or 8..' he'd still not be as good a player as he's been forced to be by those guys. I'm not sure I agree with him, but hey.

Nadal bt Djokovic 6-3 6-1 in the final of the Monte Carlo Masters.

Makes it Nadal's first title since Roland Garros, his 8th Monte Carlo title in a row and brought an end to Djokovic's 7 match winning streak against him.

I bet that was pretty sweet for nadal

Djokovic was depressed and played awful. A strategic tank for French Open, lucky win for the clay-court specialist.
It was an all-round **** performance from djokovic, why did he even bother after the death of his grandad?

and lets be honest nadal only won because of that, it wasn't anything special from him
As much as you guys would like to think that, it was by far not a strategic tank by Djokovic.

You don't put all that effort into getting into a final and then tank for no reason. Understandably, he had the loss of a family member but that was earlier in the week and from that point on he played what, 2-3 matches after that? He should have pulled out of the tournament if it was that bad.

Nadal is my least favourite out of the top 4 but it's so evidently clear he's been improving on his whole game for a good year now. Hitting the sweet spots on his serve, actually hitting his backhand (and winners on that wing, now) along with some good slice and standing nearer to the baseline.

Nadal deserved the win today. But this is not some sort major statement thats going to prove Nadal's dominance over Djokovic in 2012. I just think the rivarly is going to be much tighter this year. Bring on the RG 2012 final.

Agree. If Djokovic wasn't interested in winning the final he would have tailed off after Berdych was hammering him in the semis. Yet he came back from a set down twice this week when he could have just thrown it in. It was a legit win for Rafa and Djokovic didn't play that badly. Rafa played superbly today in every aspect of his game and served excellently throughout.

Looks very encouraging for Rafa and significantly he's broken the losing streak, so he should recover some of the edge he had in 2010 and before he started losing to Novak. I would certainly hope that they meet in the Roland Garros final; last year's was great at times but it eventually became a mismatch and it would be fantastic to see Nadal and Djokovic complete the set of grand slam final matches.

He obviously wanted to win that match (probably in dedication to his grandad as well), but whats also true is that he was in no-way near his best at all during that final. I have to say I didn't watch any of his matches leading up to the final of that week so I have no idea what his level had been, but I have seen the final and boy was it a dreadful performance. He was spraying unforced errors everywhere. Nadal basically just had to stay in the rally and wait for him to shank a forehand or backhand. He put barely anything on his shots, they were roughly all placed in the middle, allowing Nadal to get on his forehand. It was just all-round piss-poor from Djokovic.
incase anyone is interested oliver golding (last years junior us open champion and no3 junior) is in his 1st futures final playing andrew fitzpatrick in bournmouth
