Extraneous variable?

Hi guys,

I am doing an experiment into the affect of an audience on a participant's performance.

I need to keep the audience (confederates) the same in both conditions. but what extraneous variable is this controlling?

What are you getting the audience to do? Normally I would expect you to have 2 conditions - with an audience and without an audience. What is the performance of?
