Re: Warwick Freshers 2011Wow you must be awesome! That's great you have a passion for something like that, I really regret not following hobbies & things up. Maybe I can get started again haha. I tried pole-vault the other day at track... & this was interesting, I was too chicken to jump onto the mat! Ah that sounds intellectual, what do you do there? Glad you're enjoying it! I need to get some work experience really, but it's difficult to get some without having a degree for psychology(Original post by L_Belle)
Well been dancing for about 16 years so im hoping im alright!! ha! I reckon you're right, it would be fun to try a multi event - we shall have to see!! i am working at a law firm on my gap year in brum - which is amazing, really enjoying it
(i'm doing law in warwick!) as for accom - was thinking arthur vick 1st choice, JM, maybe benefactors??? not sure yet
how bout your gapyahhhh ?!?
Yeah I like the look of AV/JM, the Bluebell one looks nice but that's a tad overpriced haha! Lol my gapyah is so uneventful, trained to be a personal trainer & I'm probably going to go freelance unless I find a job in a gym... other than that just training & socialising! Are you travelling at all? -
Re: Warwick Freshers 2011Jailbreak is difficult (but a fun challenge). I suggest you start planning now(Original post by december2)
Coming from Canada to study at WBS in september...I'm really looking forward to joining a lot of the clubs, especially the Jailbreak club, it sounds like it would be hilarious!

L O V E dance
I thought Bluebell looked nice but im just worried it wont be ready! which would be a bit crap if thats the one you get and cant move in straight away!! I tried pole vault once and it was awesome - would like to give it another go- - it was so fun when you sort of get in the air - i mean, dont get me wrong, we obvs didnt go over any bars or anything, it was just practising getting yourself in the air but it was great
my gap year has been great so far - really enjoying it- its different every day but soooooo tiring!!! so much for a year off! Was meant to travel but that sort of went down the pan when I got this job - so I guess travelling will just have to wait til i'm at warwick!!! SO you're studying psychology????? - I did a bit of that in my PE a-level which was pretty good- though I always thought that was the hardest bit !!! pretty cool about being a personal trainer btw!

Re: Warwick Freshers 2011Wow(Original post by TheTallOne)
In the last two years they've said 'open in spring', replaced it with 'open in April' and in both cases they opened in mid to late May
.. Is reliability key at Warwick?
On the other hand, does anyone know much about the Poker Society? I fancy sticking my head in there andwinninglosing my spare change for the week
-
Re: Warwick Freshers 2011They have a big Freshers tournament in the first few weeks of the year - top prize is £100, entry is free and about 200 people turn up. Beyond that, the numbers are typically smaller - between 25-50 people play, but the top prizes is just as big (for a £5-£10 buy in).(Original post by Kidms001)

Re: Warwick Freshers 2011Difference between those two courses is near zero in the first year(Original post by Pink_Chocolate xx)
I'm going to firm Warwick, just choosing between courses!
Either Biological Sciences of Medical Microbiology/Virology
Cannot wait

Except for Microbiology you *need* to take one optional module. But between first and second year, you can still switch between courses, if your performance is satisfactory. -
Re: Warwick Freshers 2011Ahh that's good to know that I can switch if I want to, thank you for that(Original post by TheTallOne)

Re: Warwick Freshers 2011Check out Freshblood and other performance societies there(Original post by EasyA)
hey guys
I've put Warwick up for insurance and even though I want to join UCL since its in the city..I might not meet my conditions and I might end up at Warwick
Hope I'll see you guys there
btw do you'll have a theatre group? I'm an engineering student and I'd like to know what exactly is the workload/schedule of an engineering student? Like I'd to juggle acting and science D:
The accom application hasnt come out yet right? I have no clue what to choose ^^
If their SU page has nothing on, try Googling the society, like 'Stage Arts Warwick' to try find their Facebook page
Engineering work load: check out the module descriptors and match them up to the Engineering Course Regs. First year is pretty light, I've heard.
Accommodation hasn't been released yet, but check out The Warwick Accommodation Thread for opinion on what to choose. It may just help

wow so first year is common for everyone :\ i have a doubt..i've taken EEE..could i change my subject in Year 2?
I've been thinking of Rootes but I'm not quite sure.I've heard some bad reviews of it..but its so cheap!
Thanks a lot Tallone! How tall are you?

Re: Warwick Freshers 2011No problem. I'm short(Original post by EasyA)

Anyways, it should be possible if you see here it says 'During the second year students may apply for transfer to one of the courses leading to the Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Engineering in: [stuff]' so all you need to do is fill in a form during your second year and choose the appropriate modules for the course you want to do.
Rootes is the joint 4th cheapest let, at £3354 for the year (Westwood is at the same price). If you haven't already - the second post in http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=338591 (Where Should I Apply>>Prices and Sharing) will list you the cheaper options - but Cryfield and Benefactors are 30 weeks and Whitefields 37 weeks. -

However, as gravity already moves the Earth for you, you should be fine!
