Depends pn the subject. Maths; alot of practise.
Hist; notes, textbook. etcetcetcetc

Maths: Practise
Biology: I go over it with my mum, and try and re write processes etc
English: Close reading practise, learning quotes and poems etc
French: Memorise vocab, practise grammar
Modern Studies: Practise writing essays, and making mind maps.

I read over the textbooks, use the learning outcomes and make notes from this, highlighting key points. Then I memorise the information by reading it often and once I feel confident enough I try past paper questions.

RAM it into your memory.
No pun intended.
Past Papers and Scholar. I'm not a big fan of writing out notes.
&& For english I listen to the novel/play over and over again on audiobook. Helps me remember the quotes.
