How can i measure the rate of reaction between different concentration of Sodium thiosulphate and hcl? A way that can avoid human error and inaccuracy?

Thanks

use a photocell on one side of the test tube and a lamp on the other, measure the current put out by the photocell until it reaches a certain predetermined level...

You could use a photoelectric cell ( Photometer) but most schools will expect you to watch the cross disappear using your eyes.

Have you seen this site.

The method when you watch the cross disappear through the liquid is the easiest way but quite inaccurate as it relies on you judging when the cross has disappeared and you have to stop the timer at exactly the right time. Btw, this experiment really stinks because of the sulphur! Do you have to do this exact experiment?

Sulphur dioxide gas is produced and it smells.
2HCl(aq) + Na2SsO3(aq)= 2NaCl(aq) + S(s) + SO2(g) + H2O(l)
Can you put a cross on a piece of paper, put it underneith the beaker and use a data logger, when the cross dissapears the data logger records the duration it took.
