No, just different variations of the past tense
Are you thinking of "hätte" not "hatte". It's not so difficult once you get your head around it, if you need any help then post in here and I'm pretty sure one of us would know the answer

Please do, as I haven't studied German for nearly 4 years now and my level of writing and comprehension is pretty poor. Need to practise as much as possible even if it's only writing (or trying to write) simple sentences.

And the majority of Austria....apart from Salzburg for some reason!..haha thats why people in Salzburg are called "Faschingsmuffel" :P
